We're targeting discrimination in football. Can you help?

We are taking a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in football. We’re calling on clubs and leagues like your own to report hate, prejudice or discrimination whenever you see it or hear it.

For those people who behave in a racist, sexist or homophobic way, the message is clear. Enough is Enough.

When we know it has happened, we can take the actions needed to remove discriminatory behaviour. We'll be doing so through a range of punishments:

• Players will be removed from play and suspended.

• Teams can have points deducted.

• Grounds can be closed for repeat offenders.

Together we can end hate in football.

Spread the word that discrimination of all forms will be punished. Share with your welfare officers, league and club officials, and everyone across your league and clubs.

We want everyone across grassroots football to know...

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. TELL US, WE’LL TACKLE IT.

Harpenden Town 1 Leverstock Green 3

Leverstock Green are one win from promotion to Step Four after a stunning playoff semi-final win at Harpenden Town on Wednesday night. In front of a crowd of over 900, the Leverstock side produced a superb display, scoring goals through quick counter-attacking football and being solid and disciplined at the back throughout. Leverstock will now be at home to FC Romania in the final on Bank Holiday Monday after their surprise 3-0 win at MK Irish in the other semi-final.

It was a full-strength Leverstock line-up that started the game, including talismanic striker Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica, who had been rested for several weeks due to injury. Four minutes into the game, Stefanoaica won the ball off a defender in midfield and headed straight for goal, going past a couple of defenders before hitting a shot that should have been gathered by keeper Eman Olajide, but Olajide spilled the ball and Rawn Seale slid in to stab the loose ball home and put Leverstock into an early 1-0 lead.

The goal sparked the home side into a response, and in the 8th minute James Ewington ran onto a flick-on to go through on goal, but Josh Bowler pulled off the first of several great saves to turn Ewington’s shot round the post. In the 14th minute a shot from Dave Keenleyside was deflected over the bar, and from the resulting corner Bowler dived down low at his near post to turn a shot from Dan Palmer wide.

Each side were enjoying spells of pressure. In the 20th minute Rio Beach clipped a pass forward for Stefanoaica to chase, but Olajide just got to it first. Bowler saved again in the 25th minute to turn a free kick from Keenleyside round the post. In the 33rd minute Ryan Carruthers had space in midfield, and played a pass to give Seale a chance, but his shot was saved by Olajide. Three minutes later Dan Pett played a great pass to give Ethan Mooney a run at goal, but his shot was blocked wide.

In the 38th minute Leverstock doubled their lead with a classic counterattack. A Harpenden cross was booted clear by Beach as far as Stefanoaica, who played a crossfield ball to Mooney. Mooney pushed forward before playing a through pass into the path of Seale, and Seale squared across the box to find Stefanoaica, who took a touch before blasting home a shot into the corner of the net.

Leverstock took their two-goal lead into the second half, with Harpenden making a double change at the break. Just before the hour mark there was a blow as Paul Marks had to come off injured, but former Harpenden player Josh Dooley came on to take his place and gave another impressive display alongside skipper Dan Weeks in central defence. There was another great save from Bowler in the 67th minute to tip a header from Palmer over the bar.

In the 69th minute Luke Beckwith came off the bench to replace Stefanoaica, and seconds later Beckwith received a pass down the left from Seale, then delivered the perfect cross for Mooney to shoot home the third Leverstock goal from close range.

The third goal looked to have killed the game off, but in the second of six additional minutes, Harpenden pulled a goal back. Archie Locke was unlucky with a header that came back off the bar, but when the rebound wasn’t cleared Locke got up to lash a shot home and give his side some faint hope. It turned out to be just a consolation, though, as Leverstock held onto their 3-1 lead, and this exceptional team moved one step closer to history.

Alan Lee Reporting Tring Athletic 0 Leverstock Green 1

Leverstock Green have yet another match to look forward to as they won 1-0 at Tring Athletic on Saturday to reach the final of the St Mary’s Cup for the second straight year. Leverstock will face their playoff opponents Harpenden Town in the final, on a date to be arranged.

It was revenge for Tring’s 1-0 win at Leverstock in the final league match four days earlier, although this was a far more entertaining match, with more goalmouth action inside the opening two minutes than in the whole of Tuesday’s match. Josh Bowler had to produce a good save to keep out a Tring header with just over a minute played, and seconds later Rawn Seale was through on goal at the other end but shot over the bar.

In the 28th minute Gary Connolly made a run into the Tring half before finding Dan Pett in the box with a pass, but Pett’s first time shot was saved by keeper Dan Gould. On 35 minutes Connolly’s cross from the right found Seale coming in at the near post. Seale got a touch on the ball, but not quite enough as it went across goal, hit the post, and bounced away from goal.

Bowler had to make another couple of good saves early in the second half, firstly to turn a shot round the post, then to save a header from the resulting corner, as Tring enjoyed a spell of pressure.

The decisive goal came in the 71st minute. Seale delivered a cross from near the right corner flag which found Pett, whose shot was parried by Gould, but the rebound came back to Pett, and he nodded it home to open the scoring.

Leverstock were holding onto their lead comfortably until the 7th minute of stoppage time, when Tring had a golden opportunity to equalise. A cross from the left went through everyone and found Harry Shepherd, who was alone in acres of space with the goal at his mercy, but to the relief of the Leverstock contingent, Shepherd dragged his shot wide of the target.

Leverstock now face a decisive couple of weeks. On Wednesday night they travel to Harpenden Town in the promotion playoff semi-final, with a possible final on Bank Holiday Monday. On Saturday 11th May they face London Lions in the final of the Gladwish Challenge Trophy, also at Harpenden, and now they also have the St Mary’s Cup Final against Harpenden to be fitted in.

Alan Lee Reporting Leverstock Green 0 Tring Athletic 1

A draw would have been enough for a best-ever third place finish in the SSML Premier Division and a home tie in the playoffs, but one moment of madness at the back meant that Leverstock Green will be away to Harpenden Town in next week’s promotion playoff semifinal. Other than that, the game would have been the most mundane of 0-0 draws with barely a chance created at either end.

The goal came in the 38th minute when Gary Connolly nodded the ball back towards his keeper, but Josh Bowler wasn’t ready and missed the ball, and could only watch as it rolled back into the empty net.

The Leverstock side were unable to get going all night, with passes going astray, runs heading down blind alleys and set piece deliveries that went straight to the Tring keeper. There was a half-chance for Callum Neal late in the first half, but his shot went over the bar. The second half was a similar story with the Tring defence comfortably handling anything that the Green side could throw at them, while themselves creating little to trouble Bowler. There was a glimmer of hope in stoppage time when Leverstock were awarded a free kick in a dangerous position, but Lewis Collins’ shot flew just over the bar.

It was a disappointing result, but it was only a second league defeat since Christmas for this Leverstock side, who have equalled the club’s highest-ever league finish of 4th in 2010/11 and have a shot of clinching promotion to Step 4 via the playoffs. The semi-final will take place at Rothamsted Park on Wednesday 1st May, with a 7.45 pm kick-off.

Leverstock also have the Gladwish Challenge Trophy final on May 11th to look forward to, and a chance of a second cup final when they travel to Tring for a second meeting in four days in the semi-finals of the St Mary’s Cup.

A few words about KitAid

KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he was wearing one of his favourite football shirts (he follows Watford, Liverpool and Chesham Utd).

After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart, and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty-one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date we’ve sent out 900,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.

How to donate

If you’d like to support the KitAid cause, the easiest way to donate your unwanted football kit, in order for us to find it a new home.

Alternatively, if you don’t have any unwanted kit, but would still like to support us, we’re very grateful for any donations which will help to fund our annual costs as well as support other partnership charities where possible.

We thank you for all your support.

In working in some of the most under-privileged countries around the world, The Football Association is no stranger to seeing the impact the donation of something as simple as a shirt or a pair of shorts can make. KitAid has brought an enormous amount of pleasure and enjoyment to young and old alike through the gift of football kit and has shared the spirit of British clubs and the England team with communities in all corners of the globe. We are proud to be associated with KitAid and wish them all the best in their endeavours for the years to come.

FC Romania History

FC Romania was founded in August 2006 by a group of Romanian workers in England who wanted to play football in their spare time. Ion Vintila entered the team into the Sunday London Weekend League playing their games on Hackney Marshes. FC Romania won their Division in the first season and finished runner-up in the next. In 2008 FC Romania switched to Saturday football and joined the Essex Business House Football League, playing at Low Hall Recreational ground in Walthamstow, North East London. In 2010 the club moved to the Middlesex County Football League Division One, playing at Leyton Sports Centre and finished second in their first season gaining promotion. The following season in the Premier League saw FC Romania finish second but they were denied promotion to senior football due to the ground regulations.

2012 saw FC Romania begin their ground sharing relationship with Ryman League outfit Cheshunt FC in Hertfordshire. They played another season in the Middlesex County Football League and again finished in second position. Also, in this season FC Romania won the Middlesex County Senior Open Cup, beating Bratham 3-1 in the final at Uxbridge FC. The club applied for promotion to the Essex Senior League and played their first season in the ESL in 2013-14 finishing 5th. The following year FC Romania slipped one place to 6th.

In the 2012 -13 season the club entered the FA Vase for the first time but only reached the second round. 201415 the club finally entered the FA Cup and reached the 2nd round qualifying round just losing out to Sutton United 3-2, after beating Haverhill Rovers, Heybridge Swifts and AFC Sudbury on the way.

The club has gained a lot of attention in its short life from various media outlets in England, abroad and of course in Romania. The club and the manager have appeared in sports newspapers and magazines including , BBC Sport, Gazzetta dello Sport, L’equipe, The Times, The Sun , FourFourTwo magazine to name a few and on television in the UK on BBC on Japanese TV with NHK and on Romanian TV stations Pro TV and Digi Sport. The club has developed into a focal point for the Romanian community but has also attracted many local and English fans as well.

The club has ambitions to progress through the leagues and reach higher standards of football while developing the team further. The aim is to eventually have our own home and become a respected and established part of English football encompassing all the good things about England and Romania and being successful in everything we do.

Development & U18’s Team News

Leverstock Green Development moved up to 8th place in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division, at the expense of opponents Oracle Components. A Jayden Newman goal and an own goal were enough for a 2-1 win on Tuesday night – a tenth win in the last 15 games for Andy Murray’s side.

Leverstock Green Development moved up to 9th place in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division with a 3-1 home win over Baldock Town Reserves on Saturday. Leverstock raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Alfie Herd, Joe Dalli, and Jayden Newman before Baldock pulled a goal back. There were no further goals in the second half.

The under-18s had a tough task on Thursday night, with several players having already played twice this week against a Tring side that were on the verge of clinching the Corinthian Division title. It proved too much for them as Tring won 4-0 and took the title.

The under-18s were beaten 6-2 at home by Berkhamsted on Monday night. The visitors were 3 -0 up by half time and made it 4-0 before Leverstock pulled two goals back, though Levi Young from the penalty spot, and Kaashan Darr. However, two further late Berko goals ended the Leverstock revival.

The Under-18s were beaten 3-0 at home by neighbours Hemel Hempstead Town in Wednesday night’s SCFYL Corinthian Division game. It was a tough assignment for the side, with several of them having played the previous night for the Development Team. Hemel scored late in the first half, with two further goals late in the game to complete the scoring.
