We are taking a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination in football. We’re calling on clubs and leagues like your own to report hate, prejudice or discrimination whenever you see it or hear it.
For those people who behave in a racist, sexist or homophobic way, the message is clear. Enough is Enough.
When we know it has happened, we can take the actions needed to remove discriminatory behaviour. We'll be doing so through a range of punishments:
• Players will be removed from play and suspended.
• Teams can have points deducted.
• Grounds can be closed for repeat offenders.
Together we can end hate in football.
Spread the word that discrimination of all forms will be punished. Share with your welfare officers, league and club officials, and everyone across your league and clubs.
We want everyone across grassroots football to know...
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
TELL US, WE’LL TACKLE IT.

Goalkeeper Josh Bowler was Leverstock’s hero with two penalty saves. Codicote had beaten two Premier Division sides on their way to this stage of the competition, including leaders Real Bedford. Both sides were playing their third game in five days, and both line-ups were much changed from those that had played on Tuesday night.
It was a game of few chances, particularly in the first half. Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica had the game’s first effort on goal in the 15th minute, shooting over the bar. Leverstock had most of the possession, but neither keeper was seriously troubled during the half.
Leverstock hit the woodwork in the opening minute of the second half, with a cross that bounced on top of the crossbar, but again there were few clear chances. Guiseppe Delgaudio was in with a shooting chance in the 69th minute, but he was challenged as he hit his shot, which was saved by keeper Cameron Groom, and the referee waved away appeals for a penalty. Two minutes later Stefanoaica got on the end of a long kick from Bowler and headed for goal, but his shot was saved by Groom. Stefanoaica had an even better chance in the 83rd minute as he made a great run into the box, but with only Groom to beat he spooned his shot over the bar. The home side had a chance in the 86th minute when Billy Small was put through on goal, but his shot was wide of the target.
With no goals at the final whistle, the game went to penalties. Dan Pett netted Leverstock’s first kick, and Codicote’s first kick by Evans Peprah was saved by Bowler. Delgaudio scored Leverstock’s second penalty, and Liam Tring netted for Codicote. Ethan Mooney’s kick was saved by Groom, and Tom O’Mara hit his penalty in off the underside of the bar to level the shoot-out at 2-2. Ademide Baruwa scored for Leverstock before Logan Burton levelled for Codicote with another effort in off the woodwork. Stefanoaica emphatically scored Leverstock’s fifth kick, and when Bowler saved from Christos Pedrithes it was all over with Leverstock winning the shoot-out 4-3.
Leverstock will be at home to Potton United in the semi-finals after Potton defeated Tring Athletic on penalties in the night’s other tie.

KitAid is a charity set up by, Derrick Williams MBE, who visited Tanzania on a WaterAid supporters’ trip in 1998. Derrick, being a mad footie fan, was amazed at the reception he received from children and adults in remote villages just because he was wearing one of his favourite football shirts (he follows Watford, Liverpool and Chesham Utd).
After two weeks in Tanzania, a flame was lit in Derrick’s heart, and he was on a mission to provide kit and equipment to the bare-footed children playing with footballs made of tied string and plastic bags. Twenty-one years on, KitAid has lots of volunteers and to date we’ve sent out 900,000+ kits to children and adults in 55 different countries across the world.
If you’d like to support the KitAid cause, the easiest way to donate your unwanted football kit, in order for us to find it a new home.
Alternatively, if you don’t have any unwanted kit, but would still like to support us, we’re very grateful for any donations which will help to fund our annual costs as well as support other partnership charities where possible.
We thank you for all your support.
In working in some of the most under-privileged countries around the world, The Football Association is no stranger to seeing the impact the donation of something as simple as a shirt or a pair of shorts can make. KitAid has brought an enormous amount of pleasure and enjoyment to young and old alike through the gift of football kit and has shared the spirit of British clubs and the England team with communities in all corners of the globe. We are proud to be associated with KitAid and wish them all the best in their endeavours for the years to come.

Leverstock Green’s unbeaten run of nine league and cup games was ended by league leaders Real Bedford at McMullen Park on Saturday. The Leverstock side put up another good performance against a team they had beaten earlier in the season, but two second half goals proved the difference in a game that Leverstock finished with ten men.
With Josh Bowler having been recalled by Berkhamsted, Leverstock had to find a new goalkeeper, and making his debut today was Liam Gauthier, previously with St Albans City and Barton Rovers.
There was a moment of controversy in the second minute of the game as Luke Beckwith was going for a loose ball but was taken out by a challenge from the Bedford goalkeeper Tyler McGregor. There were appeals for a penalty, but the referee gave nothing. In the 12th minute Nat Connolly played a promising ball forward for Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica, but McGregor came out of his area and headed the ball away. Four minutes later Leverstock almost went in front. A pass from Dan Pett towards Stefanoaica was cut out by a defender, whose touch knocked the ball past McGregor and only inches wide of his own goal.
Gauthier was first brought into action in the 25th minute, saving with his legs in a one-on-one situation. The home side also flashed a couple of shots just over the bar as they started to put the pressure on. Leverstock had a good chance in the 40th minute as a pass from Rawn Seale found Stefanoaica, but his shot from a narrow angle was well-saved by McGregor. Just before half time Gauthier made another good save with his legs to ensure that the game went into the break still goalless.
The second half continued to be evenly contested in the early stages, but the home side took the lead on the hour with a very quick counterattack. Joey Evans’ pass put Josh Setchell through to slot the ball past Gauthier and open the scoring.
Leverstock had another shout for a penalty in the 67th minute, but instead of awarding the spot-kick, the referee showed Stefanoaica a yellow card for simulation. A second goal for the home side in the 74th minute proved decisive. A neat passing move put Evans in to score and double Bedford’s lead.
Gauthier produced another great save in the 76th minute to tip a shot over the bar, but a minute later Leverstock’s hopes took a further blow as they were reduced to ten men. A rash challenge from Stefanoaica brought a second yellow card and an accompanying red card.
There could have been a third goal for Bedford in the 89th minute from a free kick just outside the box, but the shot came back off the post. They hit the woodwork again stoppage time, but 2-0 turned out to be the final score.

Peter JerramLeverstock Green added another big three points to their tally with a comfortable 4-0 win over Aylesbury Vale Dynamos on Tuesday night. It was Aylesbury’s home game, but due to the continuing problems with their pitch, the game was switched to the Lords Builders Merchants Stadium.
As with Saturday’s game at Bedford, there was an early penalty shout for Leverstock as Rio Beach went down under a challenge in the box, but the referee waved away the appeals. However, Leverstock had much the better of the early play and soon made it count. In the 16th minute a slick passing move around the box ended with Guiseppe Delgaudio playing in Beach to slot the ball past the keeper and put Leverstock into a 1-0 lead.
There could have been a second goal five minutes later as Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica crossed to set up a chance for Delgaudio, but he hit it straight at the keeper. The second goal wasn’t long in arriving, though. In the 23rd minute a clearance down the middle from Aylesbury was headed straight back towards goal, and Delgaudio flicked on a pass to put Stefanoaica through on goal, and Stefanoaica skilfully sent a lob over the keeper to make it 2-0 to Leverstock.
It got even better for Leverstock in the 29th minute as Delgaudio picked up his third assist of the game, getting to the by-line to pull the ball across goal for Luke Beckwith to shoot home from close range for a 3-0 Leverstock lead. Two minutes before half time Delgaudio added his own name to the scoresheet. Ryan Carruthers cleared from the edge of his own box to find Delgaudio on the halfway line, and he did the rest, running towards goal to slot past the keeper and make it 4-0 to Leverstock before half time.
Having established a comfortable lead, Leverstock took their foot off the pedal somewhat in the second half, using the opportunity to give some players an early rest with Thursday’s Gladwish Challenge Trophy tie at Codicote in mind. Aylesbury had more possession in the second half but were unable to create anything to trouble Leverstock keeper Liam Gauthier.
Ethan Mooney came closest to adding a fifth Leverstock goal, getting on the end of a cross from Stefanoaica at the far post in the 64th minute, but couldn’t divert the ball on target. The Leverstock side had to settle for the 4-0 win which further strengthens their bid for a promotion play-off place.

Leverstock Green Development continued their excellent run in the HSCL Premier Division with a 3-2 win away to Cuffley. Goal scorers were Callum Moore, Dylan Duane-Berry, and Curtis Dibley. The Development team are now 3rd in the leagues form table with 4 wins and I draw in the last six games.
Leverstock Green Development made it six wins from the last seven games as they continued their rise towards mid-table safety with a 4-0 win over Sandridge Rovers in Saturday’s HSCL Premier Division game. Ethan Horwood and Guiseppe Delgaudio struck in the first half, and further goals from George Mitchell-Gears, returning from injury, and Shay Kelly completed the 40 scoreline.
Leverstock Green Development extended their unbeaten run to eight games with a goalless draw against title challengers Belstone on Wednesday night. Belstone were the last side to beat Leverstock in December, but they were unable to break down a Green side which gave a very determined performance.
A second half goal from Oscar Martin earned a point for Leverstock Green U18 against Leighton Town U18 in Thursday night’s SCFYL Corinthian Division game at the Lords Builders Merchants Stadium. Leighton had taken the lead in the 9th minute, but Martin’s 55th minute goal levelled the scores.
After a month without a game due to the weather problems, Leverstock Green’s under-18s returned to action with a big win on Thursday night.
Visitors Buckingham F.C. are bottom of the league without a point, and when James Renton scored an early goal, it looked like a routine win was likely. However, Buckingham soon equalised, and did so again after Luc Dischamps had put Leverstock back in front. The score was still 2-2 at half time, but in the second half Leverstock took over and scored four unanswere d goals by Dischamps, Shay Kelly from the penalty pot, Kaashan Darr and Elijah Acheampong.
The Under-18s were beaten 2-1 at Berkhamsted in Monday night’s SCFYL Corinthian Division game. Luc Dischamps put Leverstock into the lead in the 5th minute, but the home side had a 2 -1 lead by half time, which they retained during the second half.

Leverstock Green FC was formed around 1895. The first match reports appeared on January 4th 1896 in the Advertiser and gave an account of a match against Hemel Hempstead Rovers. The first competitive fixtures were reported during season 1908/1909 when the Club competed in Division Three of the West Herts League. Other clubs competing in the league at that time were: Abbots Langley, Bovingdon, Boxmoor, Bushey Heath, Hagden Lane, Ki ngs Langley and Potten End.
The Club ground in Pancake Lane originally formed part of the Gorhambury Estate, Lord Verulam making the ground available for the youth of the area and his estate workers to enjoy a game of ball. Clearly Lord Verulam was an early enthusiast, providing timb er-built changing rooms, which have been progressively replaced since the 1960s by the existing brick-built clubhouse and changing rooms.
On the death of the Lord, certain parcels of land, including that on which the Football Club stood, fell to the Crown in lieu of death duties and is administered on its behalf by the Commission for New Towns, who have remained the Clubs landlords since that time, despite two unsuccessful attempts by the Club to buy the freehold.
Leverstock Green FC remained members of the West Herts League until 1954 when it broadened its horizons and successfully applied to join the Herts County League.
By the mid 1970s the Club started to move forward with a new clubhouse, post & rail, and the installation of training lights.
The playing side of the club also improved and in 1979 the club won Division One of the Herts County League and were promoted to the Premier Division – the highest standard the Club had achieved in 80 years.
In 1991 Leverstock Green FC were accepted into the South Midlands League and had two highly successful seasons in the Premier Division before being forced to drop into the Senior Division, as floodlights were then not available. In 1996 the club finished in runners-up position and the following season were the divisional champions but could not be promoted because floodlights had still not received approval from the Council.
Premier Division status was eventually regained in 2003, and the club is now the longest-standing current member of the division. The club’s highest finish in the Premier Division has been 4th, in season 2010/11, with top six finishes also being recorded in 2005/06, 2006/07 and 2008/09.
Season 2010/11 also saw the club’s best ever run in the FA Vase, with wins over Welwyn Garden City, Enfield, Hullbridge Sports, Tunbridge Wells and Bemerton Heath Harlequins before defeat in the Fifth Round against Rye United. The club has twice reached the Third Round of the FA Vase, in seasons 2006/07 and 2018/19.
Leverstock Green FC entered the FA Cup for the first time in 2004, and the club’s best performance has been reaching the Second Round Qualifying, which was achieved in 2014/15, where we were beaten by Staines Town, and in 2018/19 where we were beaten by Dorking Wanderers.
County honours were won in 2006/07 and 2010/11 as the Herts Charity Shield was lifted, and the club were beaten finalists in the Herts Charity Cup in 2011/12. After finishing runners-up four times over the previous 12 years, The West Herts FA St Mary’s Cup was finally lifted for the first time in 2017/18 with victory over Berkhamsted in the final at Vauxhall Road.
Between 2005 and 2015 the club ran a successful Ladies’ Team, which rose from the Beds and Herts League into the Eastern Region Womens League, reaching the Premier Division in 2013.
The under-18 side competes in the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth League. The team finished runners-up in their division in seasons 2010/11 and 2014/15, and in 2015/16 they reached the final of both the Brian Hitchings Cup and the Colwyn Cup, losing in both finals to Luton Town Cedars. Many players have made the step up from under-18 level to first team level, and those who have gone on to play much higher up the non-league pyramid include Charlie Gorman (Eastbourne Borough), Luke Warner-Eley (Royston Town, St Albans City) and Jonathan Lacey (Hemel Hempstead Town) who also represented the England non-league side in the Falklands while a Leverstock Green player.
The Pancake Lane ground has seen many improvements due to ever more stringent ground grading requirements. In 2007 the Peter Metcalfe changing rooms were built at a cost of £90,000. 2008 saw the refurbishment of the clubhouse to include new toilets and a new hospitality suite. In 2009 the concrete walkway was completed to cover three sides of the ground and a seated stand accommodating 113 spectators was installed.
Season 2018/19 was one of turmoil and sadness, as long-serving fixture secretary Graham Smart passed away suddenly only weeks after taking on the role of interim chairman. A season which promised so much at the start ended with the club only securing Premier Division safety on the final day.
Emma Smart took over as chairman for season 2019/20, and with a new management team and a new spirit of optimism the club was on course for a safe mid-table finish before the season was
brought to a premature end by Covid-19. The management team of Matt Harding and Mick Vipond continued into the 2020/21 season, which again came to a premature end.
For season 2021/22, a new management team of Fergus Moore, Scott McGleish and Paul Marks was appointed. Fergus and Scott continued through season 2022/23 and won their first silverware for the club with a 1-0 win over Tring Athletic in the final of the West Herts St Mary’s Cup.
Fergus and Scott are joined by former Under-18 manager Ross Bargent for season 2023/24, and the club has also started a Development Team this season, which will be playing in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division.
Four club stalwarts have received awards from the Football Association and the Herts FA for 50 years’ service to football. The first was Jim Matthews, affectionately known as “Macca”, who passed away at the age of 90 in 2006. The second was Bill Dawes in 2014, and the third was longserving club secretary Brian Barter in 2019. Brian stood down from his role as secretary in 2020, having twice been honoured with awards from the Spartan South Midlands League. The fourth to receive the award was vice-chairman and treasurer Tony Smart in 2023.
