Just after the turn of the last century in 1902, Chipperfield Football Club was formed, initially to play friendly games and are now in their Centenary season. Within 2 years this had become a more serious pastime and they joined the local West Herts League in 1904, which covers the Hemel Hempstead and Watford district.
In the late 1960s to early 70s the Club had a very successful period winning everything in sight including the West Herts Premier League 7 times in succession. They joined the Herts County League in 1975.
Chipperfield Corinthians was formed in 1987 through the merger of Chipperfield and Tudor Corinthians. Tudor Corinthians could not reach Premier Division status due to the facilities at their council pitch in Croxley Green. Chipperfield were languishing in the bottom half of Division 2.
The merger was the best for all concerned and so it turned out to be in the first season. Winning Divisi on 1, the Rickmansworth Charity Cup and also the Herts Intermediate Cup. At the beginning of the season a new Clubhouse was started. After a tremendous effort the Clubhouse was completed to coincide with promotion and ready for the first home game in the Premier Division.
In Season 1990/91, Chipperfield Corinthians won the Apsley Senior Cup. In Season 1992/3 it was 3rd time lucky in the Aubrey Cup Final with Chipperfield Corinthians beating local rivals Bovingdon, 2-0. In 1994/5 Chipperfield missed out on the league title by only 4 points, finishing 3rd. The season was finished off successfully by winning the St Mary's Cup, beating Hemel Hempstead Town 1-0 in the final.
In 1995/6 Chipperfield regained the Aubrey Cup after an exciting penalty shoot-out against Met Police. In season 1999/2000 Chipperfield won the Ricky Charity Cup and bounced back with promotion straight back to the Premier Division. Chipperfield had a Semi Final appearance in the Herts Centenary Trophy in 2002/3 and finished 6th in 2003/4. But two seasons at the wrong end of the table saw Chipperfield relegated to Division One in 2006.
The first two seasons in Division One Chipperfield just missed out on promotion by four points then three points. In 2009 Chipperfield dominated the Division with Cuffley but finished runners up with 76 points, missing out by one point.

Leverstock Green ended up frustrated after a goalless encounter with Arlesey Town. The Green side had the better of the play throughout, played some slick passing football and created a number of chances but could not get the ball in the net.
From early in the game, it was clear that the visitors were set up to defend. Leverstock enjoyed a lot of possession and sprayed passes all-round the pitch, but when it came to the final third the Arlesey defence proved an immovable object.
A handball just outside the box in the 15th minute gave Leverstock a chance from a free kick. Ibrahim Nagheeb’s first effort came back off the wall, but his second effort was deflected just wide. From the resulting corner Bobby Armstrong headed wide.
Three minutes later there was another in the succession of excellent corners delivered by Nagheeb, which found the head of Alvin Kyeremeh, but his header was diverted over the bar by the head of Will McClelland. Another corner in the 29th minute dropped for Armstrong inside the box, but his shot was cleared off the line, and in the 34th minute Kyeremeh got on the end of another Nagheeb corner but headed over the bar.
In the 40th minute a pass from Nagheeb gave Elgeniy Daalberg a run at goal, but his eventual shot was across goal and wide. The best chance of the half came a minute before the break when Kyeremeh was through on goal, but keeper Ollie Skinner kept his shot out.
The first half had been almost one-way traffic with Leverstock playing down the slope. Arlesey had the slope in their favour in the second half and had some isolated chances. Green keeper Tautvydas
Poniskaitis made his first save of the game in the 59th minute to keep out a shot from Gabriel Ryan.
A double substitution in the 65th minute saw Chris Blunden and Richard Ennin enter the game, but Leverstock were still unable to convert their dominance into goals. A goalmouth scramble in the 69th minute saw a Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica headed onto the bar by a defender, and a follow-up effort from Stefanoaica was sliced wide from close range.
Scott McGleish came off the bench in the 80th minute and a minute later got on the end of a cross from Kyeremeh but headed wide. A shot from Kyeremeh in the 84th minute went just over the bar.
As the game went into stoppage time Leverstock continued to pile pressure on the Arlesey goal from further corners that were delivered into the danger zone by Nagheeb, but the ball could not be forced over the line. Arlesey could have won the game deep into stoppage time as Tom Millett floated the ball forward to Jaime Nvuba, who headed wide from a good chance.
MOM went to young left back Kurainashe Musanhi, who was excellent both in his defensive duties and in attacking down the left flank.

No teams have drawn more games in the SSML Premier Division than Cockfosters and Leverstock Green, so there was an air of predictability about tonight’s result as the sides shared the points in a 1-1 draw. Leverstock manager Fregus Moore had a depleted squad to pick from tonight with five players from Saturday’s game either injured or unavailable in addition to the four that were already missing through injury. Top scorers Chris Blunden and Radu-Mihai Stefanoaica were both out injured, so there were debuts for two players – Cameron Ferguson, on a dual registration from Hadley, and striker John Shamalo on a dual registration from AFC Dunstable.
Leverstock made a strong start to the game, though, and took an early lead. Luke Beckwith made a run from the halfway line before laying off to Richard Ennin, who at first seemed to have missed his chance to shoot, but he got the ball back and fired it into the corner of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 4th minute. In the 10th minute Shamalo had an effort at goal which was deflected wide, and Luke Durnin headed wide from the resulting corner. The home side had a good spell in the middle of the half, and Austin Byfield had to make two saves in the 22nd and 25th minutes to keep out shots from Ethan Rookard, who was clean through on both occasions. Leverstock went close again in the 32nd minute when a free kick from Ennin was tipped over the bar by a superb save from home keeper Charlie Mann. Ryan Carruthers headed wide from the resulting corner. In first half stoppage time Byfield pulled off another great save to keep out a Cockfosters free kick.
Further injury problems early in the second half saw Elgeniy Daalberg replace Beckwith and Bobby Armstrong replace Durnin. Seconds after coming on Armstrong was pulled up for a foul inside the box which saw Cockfosters awarded a penalty. Matt Thompson fired the spot kick past Byfield to level the scores at 1-1 in the 58th minute.
On 65 minutes Cockfosters had a good chance when Reece Barrett turned in the box but shot wide from close range. A minute later Leverstock were attacking when Kurainashe Musanhi made a run from his own half to the edge of the box before hitting a shot that Mann did well to turn away. The play went straight back to the other end where Barrett had another good chance but put his shot over the bar. The home side were denied again in the 70th minute by a goal line clearance from Ferguson.
Cockfosters were temporarily reduced to ten men when Chris Griffin was sin-binned in the 78th minute, but Leverstock couldn’t make their numerical advantage tell during the ten minutes, with a free kick over the bar from Ibrahim Nagheeb being their best effort. Leverstock were on top during a lengthy period of stoppage time, with the ball flashing across the face of the home goal a couple of times, but the draw always looked the most likely outcome, and so it proved at the final whistle.
It was an 11th draw of the season for Leverstock and a 10th for Cockfosters. Byfield’s series of first half saves earned him the MOM nomination.
Leverstock Green (1) 1 (Ennin 4)
Leverstock Green suffered their biggest league defeat of the season at fourth-placed Dunstable Town, but it wasn’t for the want of trying by Fergus Moore’s patched-up squad. There were further absences due to injury or unavailability from Tuesday’s game, where there were already nine players missing, so three further players were brought in on dual registrations for their debuts. Centre-backs Tom Smith and Jeremy Stewart came from Berkhamsted and Hanwell Town respectively, while midfielder Jedediah Brown-Johnson came from Welwyn Garden City.
In addition to the unfamiliar look to the side, the first half was made more difficult by the strong wind. The home side had more of the early pressure, with Austin Byfield saving a close-range header from Danny Webb in the 4th minute, and Smith heading off the line from a corner in the 17th minute.
Leverstock were holding their own until the half-hour mark where there was a flurry of goals. In the 30th minute Byfield did well to parry away a shot from Webb, but Tolu Ikuyinminu followed up to smash home the rebound.
Within two minutes there was a highly controversial second goal for Dunstable. Ikuyinminu hit a shot across goal which was put into the net by Joe Sellers-West, who was laying next to the goal line at the time it hit him and clearly in an offside position, but neither referee or assistant saw the need to disallow the goal.
Leverstock got themselves back into the game in the 37th minute. Luke Beckwith’s corner was not cleared from the six-yard box and John Shamalo applied the decisive touch to head into the net. However, the two-goal cushion was restored within a minute from a long throw at the other end. It was another controversial goal as Ikuyinminu finished at the far post, but Smith was clearly being held and went down as the ball came over.
Leverstock could have got themselves back in at again on the stroke of half time as Chris Blunden got to the bye-line and pulled the ball back for Shamalo, but his shot went over the bar.
Early in the second half Byfield pulled off two good saves to keep out shots from Webb, but in the 60th minute he had no chance as Webb took advantage of some suicidal passing around their own box by the Green defence to shoot home the fourth goal.
Leverstock kept on pushing to get a goal back, and their effort could not be faulted, but with their makeshift side against full-strength opposition it was always going to be an uphill battle and Dunstable held onto their lead comfortably for the rest of the game.
Leverstock Green (1) 1 (Shamalo 37)

Changes have been made to the promotion and relegation guidelines given in the summer for Step 5 of the FA’s National League System. This is due to vacancies that have arisen in the NLS for a variety of reasons.
At Step 4, the 8 Clubs finishing 4th bottom and 2 clubs ending 3rd bottom with the highest PPG now do not have to take part in the Inter-Step Play-Offs.
This leaves 6 eligible Step 4 Clubs for the Play-Offs and 16 eligible 2nd placed Clubs at Step 5. As a result, the Clubs finishing in 2nd position at Step 5 are ranked on PPG with the 10 highest being automatically promoted.
The 6 remaining Step 4 Clubs and 6 remaining Step 5 Clubs are placed into geographical groupings and paired by PPG as per the Play-Off Criteria
12 Clubs finishing in the bottom two across Step 5 will now be reprieved from relegation ranked on PPG.
It has to be noted that the above situation is the current position and could change if the Committee feels there is a valid reason in the best interest of the NLS.
