When we talk about riding in Florida all year long, these next few months are exactly what we mean. Welcome to February and Happy Valentines Day to everyone. There are some great events happing in February and this is also our best time for the Chili cookoff’s! I do love some chili, mild chili, not that hot stuff. Of Course, every biker knows that March brings us to BIKE WEEK in Daytona Beach. This year looks like it’s going to be huge as it’s getting harder and harder to find a room anywhere in or around Daytona Beach. I hope everyone is having great new year’s so far and please remember to be safe while riding, especially in Daytona Next Month, remember the northerners might not have been on their bikes in the past 2-3 months with the weather, so when they jump on them down here it might be their first ride in quite a while. The first big event I want to talk about is the SouthWest Florida Music and Motorcycle Festival. This is a three-day event with a ton of great bands and lots of great vendors. We start on Friday with bands and vendors to get the ball rolling. We kick off with the Kara Nally Band and end the evening with the ever-popular Maiden Cane Band who always rocks the stage. Saturday, we have J&B Acoustics, Dirty White Boys, KISS America and Jasmine Cain as our headliner! That is going to be one amazing day of music! Then on Sunday we

close the three-day music fest out with country artists like Crossfire Creek and The Ben Allen Band. We also have a scavenger hunt around the property, a Bikini Bike Wash by Snazzy Suds on Saturday, $100 an hour free cash give-a-way and South Florida’s Annual 2 Stroke Only Vintage Motorcycle Show!!! Full Throttle is hosting a Chili Cookoff and Chili Pepper eating contest at Moramoto of Tampa on February 26th from 11am till 3pm. We are looking for people to make chili, it is free to enter, you have to bring your own fixin’s like cheese, sour cream, oyster crackers, etc. Chili awards will be at 3pm and will be a people’s choice award. For $8 you get an all you can eat wrist band and voting tickets and a beer or soda. We will have vendors and food vendors available also. On Top of all that Full Throttle will have a 12-class bike show with registration from 11am – 2pm with awards at 3pm and will be $20 per bike to register. Happy Biker season right ! We have been doing big events every weekend , the weekly bike nights are stacking up and we're 33 days from
Daytona ! And I am still not my pre Corona self, the " on the go" title seems like a stretch . One if my coworkers called it "on the slow with Laurie Jo." hahaha sounds accurate. But I seem to come alive at events , it's been my saving grace and I am pretty grateful for this job. In January I celebrated 6 years with Full Throttle. The adventure here has taken me to some serious fun . From filming with the Gas Monkey crew to being told "your job is to keep Rusty Wallace happy with jokes all day " It's been 14
an adventure all over the country and then some . The best part has been meeting so many awesome people over the years. One biker event can restore my faith in humanity oftentimes. We do need a couple of salespersons to join the adventure with us just call 727 935 4875 and tell the boss you're the one. Oh and our Full Throttle Girls we have not forgotten them , we had several catch covid so we haven't gotten to meet them all in person, you'll see them out soon !! Gulf Coast Diva Angels, the inaugural chapter since 2005, sure know how to have fun & ride! We welcomed 2021 chapter growth with new and experienced women riders and all had a wonderful time at our holiday party in the most decorated Diva home ever! 2022 kicked off with an annual multi-chapter event on a perfectly beautiful riding day. Backroads Manatee ride then a great lunch at Salty Shamrock in Apollo Beach with Diva Angel Chapters from Tampa Bay & Pasco County and a passel of Divas onto Tampa Electric’s Manatee Viewing Center. The fun never stops for Gulf Coast with our monthly dinner meetings, full weekends of riding, bike festivals,

and/or charity events. We look forward to Thunder by the Bay this month - one of our annual flagship events we participate in - helping with registration for the annual Sunday United We Ride ride and the Gulf Coast Diva Angels tent at the Sarasota Fairgrounds. While some of us argue over masks and jabs, pronouns, which gender is allowed in which restroom, blue or red, kneeling or not or how our feelings have been hurt in or outside of churches, Sam Childers’ reality is dare I say far more brutal and superior in priority. Thousands of children are the living proof of it. With an AK47 in one hand and a bible in the other, Sam Childers has become affectionately known as the “Machine Gun Preacher”. His life story was published in his 2009 biography: “Another Man's War”. His story was turned into a Hollywood feature film in 2011; “The Machine Gun Preacher” and starring in it are Glaswegian and Hollywood heartthrob Gerard Butler. Rumor has it there is another movie in the works right now with some mega Hollywood names to top it all off. Through his charity – “Angels of East Africa” ( www.aoeathunderinthecity.com )- Childers has since 1998 built seven orphanages, seven schools, around 40 wells for clean drinking water, and a farm where he teaches those displaced by war, how to make a living. "We don't want them to be beggars, but to equip and teach them a skill and trade that can change nations. We can't save all the children but... you do what you have to do". said Childers. Millions of people are still on the brink of starvation in Southern Sudan as East Africa is gripped by famine mainly due to conflicts between tribal groups, according to the United Nations Security Council. (Source: UN Journal: 2019) Childers’ catalytic life changing moment was when he saw the body of a child torn apart by a landmine. The
body was laying in the sunburnt grass of Southern Sudan -- This was the moment former US 1%ER biker Childers decided to devote the rest of his life to saving the children of East Africa. "The body may have been there for about 12 or 16 hours. As I stood there over the child I said, “God I'd do anything I can to help these people." Most of the orphans have lost their parents due to the atrocities of war, accidents or diseases such as AIDs and malaria -- others are former child soldiers or sex slaves rescued by Childers and his team from local militia and rebel groups. "Joseph Kony was wanting to destroy me as much as I wanted to get a hold of him" Childers said of the murderer who is now believed to be hiding somewhere deep in the Congo. Sam gave up a life of drugs, crime and violence within one of USA’s most notorious motorcycle club – Childers’ life began to change when he joined his then-girlfriend on her visit to church. Sam Childers will be on his 2022 World Tour going through Florida in February – You can book him or find his schedule at www.mgpworldtour.com – There are ongoing discussions perhaps for appearances at the OCC Roadhouse in Clearwater (TBC) and, the Warhorse HD in Ocala Florida Feb 19th. Sam will be speaking to youth detention centers, drug rehab centers, prisons, schools, businesses, churches and organizations where he believes his story will inspire hope and motivate anyone that wants to make successful changes in their lives.
