Hello everyone and welcome to the April Issue of Full Throttle Magazine. April always means it’s time for the weather to start hitting the 90’s again and it will be blistering hot outside. This is when all the northern events start and most of the vendors start their “circuit” across the United States before ending back here again in October / November. I believe a lot of those event include: Myrtle Beach Bike Week, Laconia, Ohio Bike Week, This year Milwaukee Harley Anniversary, Sturgis, Texas then back to Florida. Here is Florida we try and keep things going with a few poker runs and of course bike nights all over the place. Full Throttle hosts two big poker run in the hot rainy season every year, the 5 Bridge Poker Run and the Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run ending at Islamarada this year! I think it will be the biggest Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run yet with over 200 couples!!! Tell your friends this is the ride of the year! Then on Sunday, most people, will travel down to Key West for a day before returning home. Remember on the Soaked and Sore Ass Poker Run you get a t-shirt, patch and certificate at the end stop when you make it there.
April now has three big events Full Throttle will be a part of and putting on bike shows at this year. First is April 1st in Arcadia Florida. This is Bert’s Black Widow Arcadia Bike fest and is always a great event! It happens in Downtown Arcadia and takes up about 4-5 blocks. There are a ton of vendors and it a nice ride out there. We usually have 40 – 50 bikes enter this bike show so there will be some really cool bikes to check out. Next is an event I am very excited about because it’s new and has a new venue also! The Tallahassee Bike Fest! I went last year, and it was a lot of fun, this year they moved the event to Apalachee Regional Park (7550 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311) so there will be much bigger and better space for the event. The Bike Rally in Tally is April 14-16 and they have tons of great vendors, rides set up to explore the area, a sound show, a bike show and much more! This is
also a FREE event and nor charge to get into so that’s always nice. Here is a nice letter from them about the event from their website:
As one of the only cities in Florida with rolling hills and canopy roads, our festival is perfect for bikers seeking an extra thrilling and unique biking experience you can't find anywhere else in the sunshine state. Plus, we are close to the beaches! So best of both worlds!
OUR MISSION is to offer an exciting environment to new riders, experienced riders, and their families.
TBF is a black-woman and veteran-owned and operated organization. We take pride in putting on a motorcycle rally with a purpose that benefits local charities in the Tallahassee area. This year our rally will help us donate to Team Guardian, a veteran nonprofit group. Ride on and ride safe.
The last big event is April is of course LEESBURG BIKE FEST!!! This is a huge event that take over the city of Leesburg Florida and has a crowd of around 300,000 every year. I know most people have been forgoing Bike Week in Daytona Beach and much prefer the small town feeling and biker takeover at Leebsurg Bike Fest Much better. Full Throttle will be hosting a bike show on Friday and Saturday this year. It will be a 15 class bike show with trophies for 1st and 2nd place and a 6 foot tall trophy for Best In Show and 4 foot tall trophies for people’s choice, Judges Choice and Full Throttle Choice. Besides that you can wind up and down the hundreds of vendors in Leesburg and the multiple stages they have. This is probably one of my favorite bike events of the year, and usually the hottest. You can also go over the Gator Harley-Davidson and few miles away as they always have a ton of vendors and food vendors and live music and bikini contests and so much happening. Jan does a great job with Gator Harley and we want her to know we love her and she is an amazing person, you rock Jan!!!
I would like to welcome Dave and Danny to the Full Throttle Team, Dave has been on and off with Full Throttle for a while but Danny Lopez is new. He's a funny guy and fun to be around, be sure to get a picture with him at events. Remember to drink lots of water, or at least a water between beers these next few months as it’s probably going to be the hottest year on record. Be safe, be smart, don;t drink and ride and I’ll see you on the road.

Badass Brazilian-American “Cris Cyborg” mixed martial artist competes in Bellator MMA. She is referred to as a “legend”. Cris’ (Cyborg) net worth is reported to be ~$28M dollars. She is the current Bellator Women's Featherweight Champion and has held the title since January 2020. She is also a former UFC, Strikeforce and Invicta FC World Featherweight Champion. Cris is the only MMA fighter in history (male or female) to become a Grand Slam Champion, holding world championships across four major mixed martial arts promotions. Cyborg is widely regarded as one of the greatest female mixed martial artists of all time. I have seen her ascent and I can tell you she takes no prisoner! In fact, I found out an MMA reporter once asked her how long it would take her to get her opponent in submission and Cyborg responded by taking the reporter into a headlock. I was therefore on my best behavior for this interview.
Cyborg first rose to prominence when she won the Strikeforce title on August 15, 2009. She defeated Gina Carano via first-round technical knock-out (TKO). As of March 29, 2021, she is #1 in the Bellator Women's pound-for-pound Rankings. After earning her first submission victory in a 26-fight MMA career, she was awarded her BJJ Black Belt by Rubens 'Cobrinha' Charles.
Cyborg was born Cristiane Justino Venâncio in 1985 in Curitiba to Brazilian parents. Cyborg started her sports career at the age of twelve, playing handball at a national level in Brazil. She won numerous athletic scholarships in private universities. She eventually chose to pursue the path of physical education. Later, she planned to become a professional handball player and finish her college studies there before being discovered by Rudimar Fedrigo, a Chute Boxe Academy trainer.
“I was participating in a friendly handball tournament between men and women and one of the boys, called Jorginho, was a friend of Mestre Rafael and Mestre Rudimar. He saw me training handball and asked me if I liked fighting. I replied that I thought it was cool, but I had never done it. He invited me to take a Muay Thai class and I [was hooked]!”Cyborg
Cyborg was married to fellow mixed martial artist Evangelista "Cyborg" Santos and "adopted" his nickname. The couple split in December 2011. Cyborg announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend, trainer, and former MMA athlete Ray Elbe in 2017. In 2018, Cyborg legally adopted her teenage niece, making her historically the first mother to hold a UFC championship belt.
Cyborg is a beast yes but she is far more than that. She truly is a “Holy Warrior”. Literally. 20 minutes into our meeting in newly opened mixed martial arts “Overcome Academy” (www.overcomeorlando.com) located on 300 Countyline Ct. Winter Haven Florida, it did not take long for her and I to get along just fine and pick-up on things dear to both our hearts. We both laughed at the irony that her brothers are still protective of her. “Heck I could never go out without asking permission from my brothers at one point” she said chuckling. Dad sold tires for a living. Mom sold fabric and she is still at it even at 67 years of age. Before and during her morning runs she listens to gospel music. “It feeds my soul. It’s one thing to call yourself a Christian. It’s another to walk the talk” she says. In fact, when I was in discussion with her agent (Jerry), he told me she was in an Orlando church giving her testimony. What do you say to those who question your faith because you fight I asked. Clearly, she has been asked that question before and was well prepared to answer. The scriptures are filled with violence against evil she declares with confidence. I agree. You don’t fight evil by standing down. I love Cris’ story. She started with nothing and rose with sheer determination to the very top. She had a thousand reasons on her journey to cave into fear and anxiety. Asking her how she dealt with these she energetically tells me there is no greater liar than fear. Again, she shares her faith in our talk and that she simply prays for peace. She
enthusiastically tells me her favorite scripture verses; Joshua 1:9 and Romans 8:28. Ephesian 6:10-18 is displayed on her jersey in a fight. My response to her? Deuteronomy 6:5 I said is my top verse. Each one of my children can recite this one I said to her. We both looked at each other in a split moment of silence smiling. Cyborg plays Christian music as her choice of music in her entrances for her fights. She recounts a moment when she was leaving a restaurant where a flock of teenagers came to her and circled around her to chant songs of worship. Tears welling in her eyes you can tell Cris’ faith is genuine. “I can have all the belts in the world or all the money but none of these give peace and freedom as my faith does” she says.
I would have loved to see a bout between her and Ronda Rousey who is now in pro-wrestling. The fight never happened. You can tell Cyborg still has the eye of the tiger at the sound of Rousey’s name. Maybe a wrestling match? I said mischievously. I still think Cyborg would have taken Rousey down.
So what’s in store for Cyborg now? She is giving herself another two years of fights then she wants to become a missionary. “I want to plant good seeds and truly make a difference in people’s lives as my legacy” she says. For now she works with “Fight For The Forgotten” (https://linktr.ee/ fightfortheforgotten) , a non-profit organization organized by Justin Wren that digs wells to provide drinking water for Ugandan Pygmys.
Never in her life she thought she would ride a motorcycle but here she is with a sportster. She wants to ride that thing and enjoy it. At the mere mention of motorcycle the conversation quickly shifted from fighting and faith to showing pictures of rides, children, family, laughter and things that truly matter. We closed the conversation praying for each other.
I made a good friend in Cyborg. This Holy Warrior truly has her priorities straight with a clear sense of reality. I left inspired to continue on my path. Inspired with conviction that in a world which lost its moral compass in a sea of political and business corruption, we must press on even if it means going against the grain taking punches in the jaws figuratively speaking. Will you join?

Happy Spring ! So Daytona was a blast , I decided to bring my youngest son with me so he could surf too and between surfing and bike shows we had a blast ! One of us even got a new surfboard !! Thanks Daytona Board shop for the excellent adventure! When I wasn't scoring bikes my job was to give away free stuff from Denman Pearlman which is way more fun than math! I didn't have a celebrity to attend to this year, unless you count my new co-workers haha. I can't wait to see what's next with these two. If I could only show you guys what I see …. I'm finding that people do not read more than a paragraph so I'll leave you with some info about a sign
waving group I'm in called the "West coast biker guardian angels' . We hold signs to remind cagers to look twice. It's simple, and costs nothing but a few signs we made. It's made a difference a small one ,but anything that saves 1 life is so worth it. Thank you to Law Fran for their sponsorship of traffic cones and megaphone. It helps keep everyone safe!! Find this group on FB and if you're anti social media send me an email I'll tell you when the next event is.
Peace and love to my biker family
