100 BED HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION

ONGOING CONSTRUCTION OF A 100 BED PAEDIATRIC HOSPITAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE BLOCK AT 34 MILITARY

Her Excellency the First Lady, Madam Fatima Maada Bio has turned the sod to start the construction of a 100-bed paediatric hospital at the 34 military hospital at Wilberforce in Freetown on Friday 18th December 2020.

The 34 Military Hospital will be having a facelift with a 100 bed state of the art paediatric hospital, in fulfilment of the commitment made by the First Lady to give more women and children access to quality medical care and to help achieve the structural goal of the country’s only Military hospital.

The delivery date for the project is November 2021. Plans are also in place to construct a centre of excellence next to the hospital. This centre will take care of victims of SGBV (Sexual and gender based violence) both medical and therapeutic . It will be one of the best one-stop centres for victims of SGBV in West Africa.
