Our school was the ﬁst one in our town

Construction started in 1820’s, ﬁnished in 1839

Until 1913 the only school in Rovinj

After WWI there was a boys’ and a girls’ school inside the building

The number of pupils ranged from 200 up to 650

There are about 350 pupils attending our elementary school

About 75 employees work at our school

Children start school at the age of 6 or 7

Elementary school in Croatia lasts 8 years

Classes begin at 8:00 and last until 13:10 or up to 14:45

Pupils enrol at the age of 8 or 9

The elementary music education lasts for 6 years

Students can choose between 5 instruments: piano, guitar, saxophone, clarinet, accordion

There are abut 120 pupils enrolled currently

The music department hosts many concerts during the year, the most important are the Christmas, Spring and Final concert

Our students take part in many music events in our surrounding, and regularly win prices in competitions
