Tonic Health

Partnership Proposal

We aim to be the ‘go-to’ charitable organisation for health and wellbeing support in the community We are a health and wellbeing charity, registered with the Charity Commission in 2016, providing community support to the people of South Holland, Boston and beyond. We are a local organisation, we understand the needs of the local population, and we work with the community and statutory services to fill in the ‘gaps’ in support where required. We support people of all ages and backgrounds, especially those who are not considered ‘well’ enough to support themselves in society, but not ‘bad’ enough to receive statutory support from others. We do this largely through peer-led groups, and “sectorspecific” activities. This includes support for people with their mental health, early-onset dementia, Veterans, youth clubs and adults with additional needs. Many of our project support staff and volunteers come from a place of lived experience, making us well placed to offer non-clinical support to those in need. We operate from three main sites in Spalding, Holbeach and Surfleet as well as utilising satellite centres across the wider South Holland and Boston region, and we attract funding through project-specific grants, commercial activities and donations. We strive to be the go-to organisation for health and wellbeing support in our community.

Vision: "Creating healthy, supporting local communities together" Mission: "Improving the physical and mental health and wellbeing of South Lincolnshire's communities through: bringing people together; collaborative work and partnerships; and shared spaces."

Aims: Provide high quality, cost-effective, sustainable healthcare services in a welcoming modern environment. Create a point of access for information regarding health and wellbeing services, helping people to easily find the information they need, when they need it. Foster strong links and effective collaboration with local groups, companies and organisations, both voluntary, community, statutory and commercial, all for mutual benefit. To be seen as the go-to venue for health and wellbeing activities in South Holland.

We are keen to work in partnership with other forwardthinking organisations who equally work in the South Holland and Boston area.

With rising demands and challenging times, we all need to think differently and act strategically when we are looking to develop diverse partnerships with a mutually beneficial resource. We are looking for sustainable, effective working relationships with businesses, especially with those aware of their social responsibility and the impact they can have in all aspects of society. There are numerous rewards for businesses that like to take that strategic approach to their community involvement. Although we are a charity, we think and deliver like a private organisation, with several of our Board members having vast experience in owning and running businesses.

We have a great track record in securing grant funding - in fact, we have secured over £1 million in project funding in 8 years. However, charities like us need unrestricted funding which we can use towards core positions, ensuring the day to day running of the organisation supports the project delivery and ensures we remain sustainable.

We are ambitious, forward thinking, agile and local. In fact, we can assure you that all our funding is spent on our projects spanning South Lincolnshire and Boston, so you will be able to see first hand exactly what we do, where we are delivering and the difference we are making.

We have the knowledge and experience of listening to and working with the local community across all levels, from the members of the public through to statutory and private sector businesses, and understanding where the gaps in support and provision are.

Case study: Lightspeed Broadband Project: Digital Den @ Holbeach Hub "To encourage young people from across the town to engage with and learn about digital technology, we have donated the equipment and furnishings for the Digital Den including the latest TVs and Virtual Reality headsets, gaming consoles, laptops, cameras and green screens. We have also provided the Hub with free access to its full fibre internet service so that residents can experience broadband happiness using the ultrafast service."

From this....

...to this!

Carme Mandzij, Community Engagement Lead at LightSpeed Broadband said: “Working with Tonic Health to create such an inviting community space in Holbeach has been a pleasure, and we look forward to seeing it used.

Case Study: Duncan & Toplis Project: 3D printers "The Duncan & Toplis Foundation will be the main focal point of all charity and fundraising efforts for our organisation. The foundation will allow us to dedicate more of our time and resources to working with local communities, as we can more effectively utilise our team members and their generous fundraising efforts."

Speaking about the difference the grant will make to Tonic Health, Michael Morris, Chair of Trustees said: “The grant received from Duncan and Toplis will allow us to purchase 2 x 3D printers for use in our digital craft den at Holbeach Hub, meaning that our beneficiaries have extra tools to use, learn, produce and work together for their own benefit and for a wider commercial offer from Tonic Health. Our beneficiaries will be learning new skills, and be part of a team – working together, learning together and giving them a greater sense of purpose. We are very grateful to Duncan and Toplis for their generosity and look forward to sharing some of the new products made from it in due course.”

Case Study: Bridge Farm Project: Tonic 44 Community Garden

Bridge Farm supplied a range of spring plants to go into our community garden. This spaced is shared by our Hub users, including our Dementia Groups, and is a lovely, welcoming, bright and flowery space thanks to their very kind generosity.
