Bracewell Sponsors “Academy Awards of Energy“ “I have never in my life seen so much opportunity, so well developed for our purposes...it was easy for us to really have an impact. Bracewell left an indelible brand on our core client base and we came away with concrete opportunities for revenues and relationships.” —Kevin Ewing, Washington environmental partner
Bracewell & Giuliani’s recent sponsorship of the Eighth Annual Platts Global Energy Awards in New York was more than a way to honor the world’s most visionary energy firms. It was part of a marketing strategy to take awareness of the firm in the energy industry to the next level. Marc Mukasey and Energy Regulatory Group (formerly ET) co-heads Paul Fox and Chuck Shoneman.
Bracewell is the first law firm to sponsor the annual event, known as “the Academy Awards of Energy,” along with Platts, the world’s leading supplier of energy information. Among the 400 attendees of the Nov. 30 event were 32 Bracewell partners and 19 current or former client companies. Anderson received the Lifetime Achievement Award; Current Communications Group, which was honored for Commercial Technology of the Year; and Williams, which won Hydrocarbon Producer of the Year. distributed through BusinessWeek magazine. Bracewell’s participation also reached a key audience of energy executives. At least 50 percent of the attendees held the title of chief executive officer, president, chairman, officer, director, global head, senior vice president or vice president. As a result of the event, 17 specific new business opportunities have been identified and are being tracked closely by the Marketing and Client Relations Department. The firm will sponsor this event in 2007.
