Over the last 170 years, Christmas Crackers have become a traditional part of Christmas festivities, originating in 1847 when Tom Smith’s creativity and hard work resulted in the invention of the cracker we know and love today.

Tom Smith holds the Royal Warrant as Suppliers of Christmas Crackers and Wrapping Paper By Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen. Tom Smith Ltd, part of IG Design Group UK, has been the proud holder of a Royal Warrant to The Monarch since 1906.

Tom Smith continues its partnership with The Woodland Trust, participating in a fully accredited carbon removal scheme, funding new native woodland in the UK to ensure the CO2 emissions we create from our sea freight activity is fully absorbed from the atmosphere; mitigating the impact of our business imports on the environment as part of our carbon management programme.

Tom Smith is continuing to partner with the Trussell Trust, a charity focussed on ending hunger and poverty in the UK. The charity supports a nationwide network of food banks to provide emergency food to people locked in poverty whilst campaigning for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. To date, we have raised over £82,000.

To date we have mitigated 3,510 tonnes of emissions as part of our carbon management programme.

Our entire cracker range is FSC, plastic-free and fully recyclable.

We have partnered with the Woodland Trust, actively supporting a sustainable future in line with our Environmental and Sustainable policy. This partnership logo can be found on the wrap labels.

All of our Tom Smith gift wrap is designed and manufactured here in the UK exclusively using water-based inks, supporting the local economy and drastically reducing freight costs and carbon emissions compared to overseas alternatives. There is zero landfill from our UK manufacturing site.

We are targeting the removal of carbon from our supply chain by powering all of our wrap manufacturing facilities with electricity entirely from renewable sources.

All of our paper wrap is fully recyclable and FSC.
