Welcome to The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation’s 20th Wine Tasting Gala It is wonderful to be here tonight at EverBank Stadium, continuing the work we started 28 years ago. Together, we ’ ve been able to support over 5,600 patients and families tackling childhood cancer, and cannot thank you enough. Your generosity has allowed us to BE THERE for moms and dads, siblings, and grandparents so they can BE THERE for their child.
Thank you!
Throughout 2024, we will be sharing stories of some of our Jay Fund families and the hardships they face as they care for their critically ill child We hope reading and listening to these stories will give you a sense of what it’s like to “Walk In Their Shoes,” and that you will be inspired by their resilience and determination.
Many thanks to everyone who has attended and contributed to the success of this annual event over the last 20 years, and a special thanks for the invaluable contributions of Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the Jacksonville Jaguars, Bold Events and the entire community that rallies behind our mission
Together, we can and will continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families tackling childhood cancer.
With gratitude,

Southern Glazers Wine & Spirits is proud and honored to continue our support of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund & Wine Tasting Gala
This partnership has spanned 20 remarkable years and generated over $2 million for childhood cancer patients and their families. We could not have accomplished such success without the support of our restaurateurs, wine and spirit supplier partners, and local community vendors and sponsors. Reflecting on 20 years ago when Barry Zeidwig and Tom Coughlin, along with the Jay Fund team first brought this gala to life, we had 300 people in attendance and raised $50,000 dollars. Fast forward to 2024 and attendance expectations are close to 1,000 attendees and estimated proceeds for the Jay Fund are over $300,000 dollars The proceeds generated from this gala have allowed the Jay Fund to be able to develop even more crucial programming inclusive of sibling and caregiver support programs
We’d like to express our sincere appreciat to Jacksonville and the surrounding a patrons that have made all this possib Without you, the Jay Fund would not be a to keep up with the rising costs that associated with caring for those in need I because of the growing commun excitement and its passion for giving t after 20 years, we have moved the W Tasting Gala to the home of the Jacksonv Jaguars, EverBank Stadium, where it c reside and prosper for many years to come
We hope you enjoy your evening of great food, wine and spirits, and silent auction opportunities.
Again, a sincere thank you to all that have made this possible and such a huge success! HAVE FUN!
Byron Hayes Vice President at Southern Glazer’s Wine & SpiritsThe Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation is named for Jay McGillis, who was diagnosed with leukemia while playing football under Coach Coughlin at Boston College Coach admired the red-headed strong side safety for his incredible work ethic and intense play
In the eight months between Jay’s diagnosis and the day he lost his battle with cancer, the Coughlin family saw firsthand the physical, emotional and financial strains the illness caused Jay’s family. Coach Coughlin vowed that if he ever had the chance, he would create a way to help families with children battling cancer.
Coach Coughlin kept his vow and started this foundation to BE THERE for these patients and families in Jay’s honor Since 1996, the Jay Fund has provided $20 million to over 5,600 families in Northeast Florida, Southern Georgia and the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.
