Together, the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund and Wolfson Children’s Hospital are helping families tackle childhood cancer.

The Jay Fund helps children like Mila and their families focus on their fight against childhood cancer by taking away some of the burdens that come with the diagnosis.

From paying household bills to financial planning, from making a child’s life brighter through playing games in Evan’s Teen Room at Wolfson Children’s Hospital to organizing special visits, the Jay Fund is there for our patients and their families. Thank you!

Welcome to the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation's 28th annual Celebrity Golf Classic. I cannot thank you enough for your continued support year after year. This tournament has been the cornerstone of our organization since our humble beginnings in 1996. It remains a vital source of financial support for the families we serve and a testament to the genuine love we share for our fellow man.

As Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "The giving of love is an education in itself." For many of us, our first encounter with love was through our mothers. In the Coughlin household, “mom” was a simple moniker Judy cherished. It’s impossible to convey how much we miss the energy and affection she showered, not just on us, but on the families and patients we’ve had the privilege of serving. Judy’s life is a true lesson in the art of giving love. As we approach Mother's Day weekend, we are honored to celebrate the beauty, strength, and sacrifices of all mothers, particularly those facing unimaginable challenges.

We cannot stress enough that we could not do this important work without your help. You are the reason why we have been able to support 5,600 families and provide over $20 million in financial assistance. Thank you for being a part of our journey and allowing us to BE THERE for these families so they can BE THERE for their sick child.

The Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation is named for Jay McGillis, who was diagnosed with leukemia while playing football under Coach Coughlin at Boston College. Coach admired the red-headed strong side safety for his incredible work ethic and intense play.

In the eight months between Jay’s diagnosis and the day he lost his battle with cancer, the Coughlin family saw firsthand the physical, emotional and financial strains the illness caused Jay’s family. Coach Coughlin vowed that if he ever had the chance, he would create a way to help families with children battling cancer.

Coach Coughlin kept his vow and started this foundation to BE THERE for these patients and families in Jay’s honor. Since 1996, the Jay Fund has provided $20 million to over 5,600 families in Northeast Florida, Southern Georgia and the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.

CALEB BELLEGARDE TOM COUGHLIN JAY FUND SCHOLAR

Caleb is a talented student and musician graduating from Matanzas High School this spring. Despite being diagnosed with a rare glioblastoma brain tumor last May, Caleb has not let cancer define him. He has overcome debilitating side effects and has his sights set on personal and academic achievements. Caleb served as a leader in the National Honor Society, Key Club, as well as concert band, jazz band, marching band and regional honor ensembles. Caleb has been named to both the Dean’s List and President’s List at Daytona State College where he has undertaken several dual enrollment courses. Caleb plans to major in political science and dreams of becoming a lawyer.

Madison is a graduating senior at Ponte Vedra High School and is looking forward to attending Florida State College at Jacksonville this fall. She exhibits a tremendous work ethic and focus and has held several afterschool jobs taking on increasing levels of responsibility to save money for college. Madison gives back to her community by volunteering with younger students and participating in environmental clean-up activities. Madison’s goal is to become a doctor and she is motivated by the care she received as a child while undergoing treatment for an extremely rare cancer that required the removal of her right kidney.

Eilish will be graduating from Beaches Chapel School this spring with a stellar record of academic achievement and community service. She attained the highest grade point average in biology and algebra and was inducted into the National Honor Society. Active in the art, political science and drama clubs at school, Eilish also completed more than 100 hours of community service and youth mentoring. Eilish’s real love is art and she received numerous awards in her school’s art show. She plans to double major in fine art and psychology at the University of North Florida this fall. After tackling acute lymphoblastic leukemia as a child, Eilish hopes her life comes full circle and dreams of providing art therapy to other young children confronting pediatric cancer.

Viviloria will be graduating from Jean Ribault Senior High School this year and has been recognized for her outstanding academic achievement, as well as her positive attitude and diligence in everything she does. Viviloria has excelled in science and has been an exceptional student leader in her high school. She is a member of Future Medical Professionals of America and plans to attend Nova Southeastern University and pursue a career in nursing. Diagnosed with brain cancer when she was 11 years old, Viviloria has a particular interest in working with pediatric oncology patients and supporting them through the difficult childhood cancer journey.

WENGER FAMILY STEM SCHOLAR

Aya has been a remarkable student at Ridgeview High School and is graduating as an AP Scholar with Honors. She received the African American National Recognition Award and placed third in the Chemistry and Environmental Clay County Science Fair. When Aya was diagnosed with synovial cell sarcoma during her junior year, she feared her academics would suffer. But Aya continued to be a top student in the rigorous IB diploma program and served in leadership positions in the Beta Club, Multicultural Awareness Society and the Future Business Leaders of America club. Aya has long dreamt of a career in medicine and will be majoring in cellular and molecular biology at the University of Florida this fall.

Like many 7-year-olds, Donovan loves superheroes and he plans on gracing the big screen some day with his flair for the dramatic and superhero strength! While Spiderman is his favorite, Donovan has created “Pandaman” who conquers the forests and mountains in front of him. Bravery and grit define both Donovan and his superhero “Pandaman” and leukemia is no match for his determination to conquer childhood cancer.

Eight-year-old Madeline dreams of being an artist. Diagnosed with a medulloblastoma brain tumor last spring, Madeline finds joy and comfort in painting beautiful pieces of art. Her depiction of a majestic dolphin breaching the ocean’s shimmering blue surface into the sunlight is symbolic of Madeline’s personality and approach to pediatric cancer. Like the dolphin in her painting, Madeline glows in the light and delights all those around her.

As a young teenager, Mary thrived in competitive cheerleading, tumbling and horseback riding. But now at 16-years-old, a brain tumor has robbed Mary of her favorite activities and replaced them with debilitating chemotherapy and endless doctor appointments. Mary’s painting illustrates the beauty and serenity she still finds in horses and she looks forward to riding again soon. Her compassionate heart and determined mindset are driving her to become a nurse or doctor one day so she can help other children tackle pediatric cancer.

These incredible works of art are available in tonight’s auction and were created by local childhood cancer patients.

For over 75 years, MICRO has continually expanded our capabilities in order to provide our customers with the finest in full service Medical Device contract manufacturing.

The latest addition to our global footprint is a newly facilitated 32,000 sq. ft. location in Costa Rica featuring clean room assembly and light manufacturing. This facility, located in the Zona Franca Metro Business Park, achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification for its Medical Device Quality Management System in October of 2022.

Since day one, our goal at Nemours Children’s Health has been to reduce the spread and return of cancer with breakthrough treatments. But we also create programs that go well beyond medicine to help children recover and stay healthy. One of our programs focuses on adult care transition. Another helps prepare kids for college. We even have a program that ensures kids don’t miss out on milestone life events like the school prom. And our research in children’s cancer care is opening doors to even more advancements. Advancements that will help children recover in ways ordinary medicine simply can’t.
