July, it was suggested we explore the changing eating habits of our Dann Veldkamp community. I sent an email to a number of writers asking for their Publisher ideas on what we might do. It took off from there.

They became a self-directed team, sharing ideas and resources.

They exchanged long threads of emails on how the stories would fit together, volunteered to take pictures, discussed nutrition, made contacts with local businesses, and explored the edges of the changing face of food in Greenwood.

The result is a special issue with six related articles, starting with Greenwood Health Kick covering trends in diets and moving through the changing marketplace and concluding with how a local car dealer has brought a chef on staff to serve both employees and customers! It was a wonderful and exciting adventure. And, in total, represents hundreds of hours of work by our dedicated team of writers and photographers.

The holiday season is creeping upon us, and so are the “oh so good” devilish dishes and desserts. Don’t wait until after the holidays to decree a healthier lifestyle. Start hammering out your armor now, before the seasonal temptations lure you in.

The National Institute for Health reports an average weight gain up to 5 lbs. during the 6-week holiday season, for people who already struggle with weight. The holiday season is responsible for 51 percent of weight gain for the year. Reason enough-YOU NEED A BATTLE PLAN. Write it down and proclaim it to your family so all are onboard.

In the spirit of the diet battle, meet the three Greenwood ‘diet-teers’ who accepted a 30-day diet challenge. Each one wants to make a change in their diets to lose weight, feel better, and improve overall health. The diets chosen declare they are NOT fads but plans meant for lifelong. We are going to put these diets to the test on typical Greenwood residents, and will share their experience and results in the following month.

MEET OUR THREE ‘DIET-TEERS’ and grass fed protein. It’s clean eating and hopefully will help me lose weight but also just feel better. I struggle with hypothyroidism and sore joints. I’m looking forward to the challenge and my goal is to lose 15 pounds. My overall goal is to lose 50, but hopefully this will kick start my desire to continue and turn the Paleo way of eating into a lifestyle.”

I have three kids, with the youngest being five. Also at 5’8”, weight loss and gain can come pretty quick, and my knees didn’t want me to weigh over 190 pounds. So, I’ve cut back on the traditional weight room exercises, and focused more on of a cardio and resistance mix. While I’m trying to lose some weight with my busy life, I wanted to try a simple diet that did not take much planning. The 5/2 diet plan is simple since there is no real specific foods you eat just calorie counting.

I am also fascinated by not only the potential weight loss but the other health benefits that fasting can have, such as reducing cancers and slowing the aging process. Cancer tends to run in my family.”

To the ‘diet-teers,’ and their families, remember…“All for one and one for all” is the motto when heading into a new, healthier lifestyle!

Alicia Wettrick is a Family Nurse Practitioner working in OB/GYN for Community Hospital Network. She believes that Greenwood is a great place to lead a healthy lifestyle and raise a family. She is married to Don Wettrick and has three kids, Ava, Anna and Grant. She has been a southsider since childhood and has lived in the Greenwood area since 1998.

The 5/2 plan is an intermittent fasting diet with two modified fasting days of 600 calories for men (500 for women), ideally not consecutive, and five days of normal caloric intake. Dr. Michael Mosley popularized this in the UK in the BBC Horizon program “Eat, Fast, Live Longer.”

Methodist Sports Medicine (MSM), which has been serving Southside residents since 1996 at its current satellite location on SR 135, will be opening a new, larger Southside office in 2015. MSM also offers services in Carmel, and is excited to announce this relocation to a larger space in Greenwood.

MSM offers several specialty medical services for a variety of patient needs.

As a long-term provider to this area, and official team physicians of the Indianapolis Colts since 1984, MSM’s commitment to excellence in orthopedic sports medicine care in Greenwood will feature a unique magnetic resonance imaging system (MRI). The Ingenia 3 Tesla (3.0T) from Philips Healthcare represents the latest in technology.

“Methodist Sports Medicine has made more of an investment, to get the best diagnostic imaging for their patients,” said Dan Bailey, Philips MRI Product Specialist. MSM hosts the only fully digital 3T MRI in the state of Indiana, which allows patients the complete assurance that the orthopedic imaging they receive is the highest quality imaging available.

G. Peter Maiers II, M.D., a team physician and orthopedic consultant for IU athletics for MSM works specifically with this imaging and has for over seven years.

Specializing in sports medicine, as well as knee and hip injuries, Dr. Maiers noted that not many places use the Ingenia 3T MRI, and that it stands out by allowing providers and physicians to make more informed and accurate decisions. It also provides a more comprehensive read out to patients due to the clarity and precise nature of the 3T imaging.

“The overall benefit of Methodist Sports Medicine utilizing this technology and high field strength magnetic field is more value for the same price. It is comparable to a high definition TV for the price of a regular TV,” explained Dr. Maiers.

3T MRIs are not new to the medical field.

They have, in fact, been in practice for several years. Many practices use 1.5 T imaging, while some have chosen 3T. The 1.5T imaging may be fine for many imaging needs. In the beginning of 3T’s use in the marketplace, the quality of precise imaging was considered compromised when focusing on imaging of certain anatomies. Many hospitals, clinics and medical personnel chose to upgrade their MRI capabilities to the new generation of 3T. This new generation has removed these compromises and provided a much superior result in imaging for both diagnostics and therapy, especially in

musculoskeletal applications. In the past, 3T MRI imaging was used primarily for neuro and musculoskeletal; now that has developed into breast, body and cardiac imaging.

Three differentiating technical features in the use of Ingenia’s 3T product: 1. Better image quality and faster processing time – a higher parameter in 3T imaging versus 1.5T; 2. Largest scan field-of-view in the industry – fewer imaging sequences are necessary for patients thus enhancing the user and physician experience; 3. What Greenwood Brings to the Table The food scene in Greenwood is changing. From the farm to the table, we are changing the way we purchase, cook and consume food. Fresh food, with an emphasis on more fruits and vegetables, is gaining the attention of residents. People are also more interested in buying locally produced food and looking for restaurants that serve locally produced food as well.

This month we have five special articles looking at this phenomenon.

First, we learned there is nothing new about seeking fresh food; it may be more of a matter of more media coverage. One reason for this increased coverage is the changing nature of grocery stores, which are always quick to respond to consumer demand. Restaurants are close behind looking to add local ingredients to their recipes. You too can add local produce and meats to your home diet and we have the recipes to prove it. Finally, professionally prepared food is being served where you’ve never seen it served before, namely a car dealership!

In Southern Indianapolis, four long-term local providers that stand out are the Greenwood Farmer’s Market, Walker Hatchery, Archer Meats and Vogel’s Organic Dairy Farm.

Remaining a family business was important to Ron and is reflected in his staff: Chris, Bobbi, Shaun and Kenny Archer all work there – all related to Ron. Business has increased over the past few years and all by the old-fashioned way of advertising: word of mouth.

Archer Meats provides both meats for sale as well as processing for all meats and exclusively processing for deer. All of their meats are State of Indiana inspected and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point compliant. All meats come from local Indiana farmers – so buying provides income back into the Indiana community.

All meats provided at Archer are steroid and antibiotic free. When you walk into their shop, there is no showcase for their meat, you tell them what you want, they go to the back (the “slaughterhouse”) to cut it and bring it directly to you.

Archer’s sells in-store only and will special cut your selection of meats just the way you like them.

“If your husband wants a steak an inch thick and you want yours a half an inch thick, we will cut them that way,” Chris Archer said.

They also provide catering, which is about 30 percent of their overall business.

Customers like to know where their meat comes from.

“Customer relationships remain our favorite part of the business,” Chris stated, adding, “We have had grandfathers, dads and sons all bringing us cattle over the years.”

The business has had continued growth over the years and they feel the art of buying local has definitely made a comeback – something that both Archer’s Meats and the Greenwood community are grateful for.

Becoming a crime statistic is one of the worst feelings imaginable. It’s like a quick punch to the gut that leaves a nasty, empty feeling behind. I’ve been there. You may have too.

The morning I realized my car had been stolen, I felt unlucky and possibly cursed (the same car had been burglarized a couple months prior).

At the time, I told myself I needed to take more precautions to ensure my personal safety.

Fast-forward more than a decade.

On the way to work several weeks ago, I saw the aftermath of a shooting at the edge of my usually quiet subdivision. It was enough to refuel my desire to be proactive.

I took part in a Women’s Self Defense Seminar hosted by Fishers-based Krav Maga Indy.

On a rainy Saturday afternoon, we crowded inside a hot martial arts studio to learn the basics of self-defense.

Aged 18 to retirement, we took turns hammering our fists into boxing pads and pushing our partners off of us.

Some of us giggled during sparring, feeling slightly embarrassed and hoping this will ready us in case the occasion should arise.

“We love the groin,” Instructor Jeff Fredericksen tells us. “It solves a lot of problems.”

The women around me share looks of bewilderment and surprise.

“The eyes are another point to aim for when all else fails,” he continues, putting his hand over his sparring partner’s face.

He goes on to demonstrate how to effectively strike those areas of the body in a myriad of situations.

Fredericksen is an expert—he’s the Head Instructor at the state’s only official Krav Maga Worldwide training center.

Fredericksen opened the center in 2008 and has trained law enforcement at the local, state, and federal levels.

Krav Maga originated in Israel in the late 1940s/early 1950s as a means of military

training in a short span of time. It was brought to the U.S. in 1981.

Fredericksen offered the class several key takeaways, rooted in common sense: 1. Awareness: People often fall prey to criminals simply because they’re not

paying attention. Fredericksen says always be looking around, especially when you’re alone in a public place like a mall parking lot.

2. Body Language: Stand tall, walk with purpose, and look confident. The less fear you show in your face and body, the less likely you are to become a target.

3. Have An Escape Route: Know where the exits are and how fast you can get to them in your home, school, or office.

4. Tell the Story: Fredericken says if you do end up in a hostile situation, tell the story. He likened it to bathing a cat.

“When you try to put your cat in the tub, it becomes very vocal,” he laughs, but he has a point. Yelling and describing what’s happening to you can be the difference between life or death.

The overarching theme is simple: “Get home alive.”

WALK FOR WOMEN’S LUNG HEALTH AWARENESS Writer / Kara Reibel

On Oct. 18, the American Lung Association is holding an inaugural LUNG FORCE walk to raise awareness for women’s lung health with a focus on lung cancer. “LUNG FORCE is a new initiative to make lung cancer in women a public health priority, to drive policy change and to increase research funding,” says Sheena Lee, Special Events Manager for the American Lung Association in Indiana.

Lung cancer is the most deadly form of cancer for women, and prevention is a major part of the cure, but not always. In Carrie Aloisio’s case, she acquired a rare form of lung cancer without ever lifting a cigarette to her mouth, with zero family history, and without being consciously exposed to secondhand smoke or any other known factors. “It began with a cough,” she says. “The cough progressed, and before I knew it, I was having surgery to remove the majority of my right lung.” Her final diagnosis came only after surgery: mucoepidermoid carcinoma. She was 38 years old at the time. Luckily her form of lung cancer is rare, occurring in less than 0.1 percent of all cases and does not require chemotherapy or radiation.

The surgery to remove her lung occurred in May of 2013, and as soon as she could, she went back to what she loved: running. adapting to having only one lung, she was learning to walk again and slowly building up her strength. Aloisio was able to run her first half-marathon 11 months later, which occurred in April of this year. “I wanted to finish a race before the one-year mark of my operation,” states Aloisio. “That was my goal and I did it!”

Diane Tetrick came from a family of smokers. Of course they smoked, with a family legacy of tobacco farmers from Kentucky. However,she has never taken a puff, but she had been exposed to secondhand smoke. Her dad died after losing a horrible battle with lung cancer.

Tetrick’s sister, Barbara, died on the operating table because of lung cancer; she had been a smoker. Tetrick, now 63 years old, has been in remission for the last two years.

The first symptom for Tetrick was also a cough—a nagging one that wouldn’t go away. Having a sister who had just died from lung cancer, she insisted on a CT scan. Two spots were discovered, so portions of each lung were removed, with her family by her side. Marvin, Tetrick’s husband who is retired from GM, and their kids, were there with her throughout the process. Their son, Marty, an Army warrant officer, and their daughter, Mindy, a teacher at Center Grove, are a source of pride and resilience for their parents.

A spiritual woman with a strong faith and married 46 years to her high school sweetheart, Tetrick is tough and takes it as it comes—with optimism. And even though she found out that another surgery is required, she is ready. She has staying power and possesses all the signs of a positive outcome.

These are only a couple examples of survivor stories. There are plenty of others who are running their own race of sorts.

Paul Zoellner, owner of Zoey’s Pizzeria, just off 135, realized that sourcing locally helps create his restaurant’s identity. Zoellner explained, “There’s a lot of commercialized restaurants here and they do great in what they do. However, there’s no identity to them. Here in Greenwood and Center Grove, because we live in an agricultural area, we have a great opportunity to source locally. What an exciting opportunity for mom and pop places! We are in the secondary market…we can’t afford to be on 135. It’s too expensive so instead we’ll be in places like little strip centers. Many places are overlooked because of their location. I encourage people to look for those small independents who source locally. It’s important to know that those places are there.”

LOCAL SOURCING NOT WITHOUT DIFFICULTY However popular it may be, this trend of local sourcing does not come without its share of difficulties. “The problem with being consistent to local suppliers is that the availability dictates the pricing,” Ferguson.

“When something is market value and the price goes high, it becomes too expensive for the customers.”

In order to combat this problem, Bistro 226 utilizes small amounts of fresh, local fare into their Weekend Specials. While creating their regular menus seasonally, according to what is typically available, they do add specialty items for weekends only; these are dictated by the items local farms or producers have for purchase.

This addresses another issue with local sourcing: local farms with a smaller production cannot meet the on-going demands of the restaurants. “Some of the smaller farms won’t have enough product for us; they can’t always keep up with our demand,” Salgado said.

Revery, however, has discovered how to turn this into a positive. “We can change our menu as needed; using local ingredients allows us to cook seasonally, weekly or even daily if needed,” Henrichs said. “Our menus are printed locally on brown paper grocery bags so we can change them as often as needed, based on what is available.”

One other major issue prevents local farms from producing what restaurants need.

“Bottom line: we do live in Indiana; the weather doesn’t allow us to grow yearround,” Henrichs said.

In such cases, restaurants must turn to local vendors with access to produce from other parts of the country instead of locally to provide them with the freshest possible ingredients. “You have to be prepared either

way, and unless you had your own indoor garden that’s the only way you get past the cold Indiana weather. You have to push your vendors to send out the best product they can, and that’s where that relationship with your vendor is important. Zoellner said, “They have to understand that vision and work with you.”

FOR THE EXPERIENCE One last thing that locally sourcing restaurant owners want customers to understand about their business is that they need to have a different mindset when looking to them. “There’s a learning curve to what the customers think: we aren’t the cheapest but the experience will be 10 times better. We want the food to be an experience and not just for consumption only,” Zoellner said.

The phrase “farm to table” is a real possibility to Greenwood residents who have discovered Indy Family Produce and Moody’s Butcher Shop.

Both these businesses offer products grown and raised nearby. Smart consumers are realizing that when they buy local goods, fresh really does mean fresh. Not only is the taste more delicious, but valuable nutrients are still present in foodstuffs that have not been sitting on a truck for several weeks. Vegetables and meat grown and raised locally have a short timetable from harvesting to fork, which negates the need for preservatives that industrial farming operations use.

Cook the bacon until crisp. Set aside and leave two tablespoons of oil in the pan. Rinse, cut the rib out and chop the kale leaves. Sauté the kale in the pan along with the vinegar and pinch of sugar.

When hot and wilted, place on serving dishes and crumble the bacon on top.

Cathy Richards, business development manager for Indy Family Produce, explains how the produce they sell wholesale is handled. “There is less than a 24 hours period between the time it is harvested and the time it is delivered fresh and served on the table.” The business also maintains a retail farm stand at 110 Bluffdale Drive.

JUMBO CHICKEN BOMBS

In July, the company was informed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that they had become Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certified. Obtaining this certification is a long process and involves being audited and inspected by the USDA. The Richards family has been farming since 1943; they grow grains, but after seeing a need in the community for fresh, organic vegetables, Indy Family Produce was born. Richards commented, “I thought it would be our sweet corn, but we have become known for our lettuces.”

They also cultivate a wide array of vegetables ranging from tomatoes, squashes, and peppers to members of the onion family like shallots and leeks.

Food this fresh shines on its own; it does not need a lot of spices or ingredients to make it taste great. Indy Family Produce’s butternut squash and beets with shallot vinaigrette is a delightful autumn side dish especially when served on their colorful rainbow chard. See recipe (serves four).

Four boneless, skinless chicken breasts Four fresh jalapenos Eight slices bacon ¼ cup barbecue sauce Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse, dry and butterfly chicken breasts. Cut each pepper in half, seed and place one inside each breast. Wrap each piece with two slices bacon. Bake for 55 minutes. Brush one-tablespoon barbecue sauce over each breast and bake five minutes more.

Their animals are not fed genetically modified food with added hormones or antibiotics, but only grasses and grains grown right where they graze.

This summer, owners Adam and Lucy Moody were recognized for their efforts to farm sustainably by receiving the Agrivison Award from Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann at the Indiana State Fair. This award recognizes those involved in Indiana agriculture for vision, innovation and leadership in the industry. As well as selling their own meat and eggs, Moody’s Butcher shop offers an array of merchandise from the surrounding area ranging from duck fat and frozen all natural cookie dough.

Moody’s is known for its nitrate free bacon, and on a recent visit, clerk Reba Denman enthusiastically gave some suggestions for using it in a couple of her favorite dishes.

BEETS & BUTTERNUT SQUASH WITH SHALLOT VINAIGRETTE Four beets One butternut squash One shallot ½ cup olive oil ¼ cup lemon juice ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper One bunch rainbow chard

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Wash the beets, trim the ends and wrap them in foil. Cut the squash in half, scoop out the seeds, and place on a baking sheet. Bake beets and squash until tender, about one hour. Remove from oven, skin and chop both beets and squash. Place on bed of rainbow chard. Peel and mince shallot. Whisk shallot, oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper together.

Drizzle over the vegetables.

CARS & THE CAFÉ Chances are commuters going north from Greenwood on U.S. 31 do not realize they are traveling past one of the more unusual cafés in the state, Goodwrench Café. And its location is just one of the reasons for its uniqueness.

Brad Hubler owns 10 auto dealerships and a car wash in the Indianapolis area. With 600 employees, he envisioned a simple way to build rapport and camaraderie among them: get them together in small groups around mealtimes.

Hubler remodeled his Chevrolet dealership on South U.S. 31 in 2008. He thought adding a café for employees to use might be a means to offer high quality food choices at the work location and build a sense of rapport among all staff. The ability to offer guests complimentary food and drinks while waiting for car services also appealed to him.

Additionally, having catering staff on hand to prepare for special events would be beneficial.

It wasn’t quite that simple. Someone had to be found who could manage that endeavor and prepare the food. For several years, he employed a fine cook. However, earlier this year he needed a replacement.

Enter chef Amour Lopez.

The dealership general manager Brooke Hubler contacted the Our Lady of Greenwood and Center Grove graduate. She was looking for referrals to fill the opening for café manager and head cook. Chef Lopez, a 2008 Ivy Tech Culinary School graduate, asked Brooke what vision she and her father shared for the café.

The reply came back: more variety in the menu and a person who was comfortable managing both the front and the back of the house. After reflection, Lopez said, “I think you are ready for a chef.”

in mind—herself. Her experience included catering two fundraising benefits for Herb Simon’s daughter, Rachel, and being the only Indianapolis-based chef to be hired for the 2012 Rolling Stone Super Bowl party.

Once the Hublers agreed, Lopez began hiring and setting the kitchen in order during the spring. June arrived and the café reopened.

Lopez wants staff and guests alike to “experience culinary from the moment of reading the menu.” A new menu for breakfast and lunch is presented each month with standard features and one daily special.

The serving sizes are generous. Employees sign for whatever is purchased and the price is deducted from their paychecks.

Guests, waiting for service on their vehicles or loan approval, are served what they want to eat or drink free of charge. (Yes, you read that right. Free.)

For example, these were some of the recent menu choices: BREAKFAST: Grilled ham, cheese & egg sandwich; biscuits and gravy; waffles or

pancakes, with cook-to-order sides of meats and potatoes.

LUNCH: Hubler Signature salad (like a chef ’s salad); hamburger and chips; chicken salad on croissant; or sides of fruit salad, lettuce salad or fried onion rings. Lunch specials have included ham, scalloped potatoes and candied carrots; grilled chicken with pesto sauce topped with sun-dried tomatoes served with roasted potatoes; and spaghetti and meatballs.

Every Wednesday the special is bottomless; it is all you can eat. One Wednesday monthly is a Mystery Meal Special. Lopez prints a short whimsical clue on the monthly menu.

People make a guess if it will be Mexican, Cajun, Asian or another cuisine.

Brad’s vision was for people to get to know one another better—to build a sense of workplace unity. Now the sales person sits next to someone from the office staff while another seat is filled with a technician or someone working at Brad’s Car wash, which is located behind the Chevrolet dealership.

Brad likes sharing a Coke and a conversation with whomever is in the break room. It gives him a chance to get to know his employees on a person-to-person basis.

Lopez enjoys working to help achieve that goal through the relaxing times people share together over meals. Café hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Breakfast is served by special order from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Lunch runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Snacks and beverages are offered during all the remaining hours.

JOHNSON COUNTY CATCHES A TRAIN

As Indiana citizens prepare to celebrate the state’s bicentennial in 2016, it doesn’t really make sense for them to hop on a plane— but they can catch a train.

The Indiana Historical Society will bring the Indiana Bicentennial Train to Johnson County, where it will be open to the public in Bargersville October 9 through 11. Located near the corner of Harriman Avenue and Baldwin Street, this stop will be the last one offered in the southern half of the state until the fall of 2016.

Originally known as the Indiana History Train, the Indiana Bicentennial Train has welcomed more than 71,000 visitors in its six years of travel. This included a wellattended stop in Bargersville back in 2008, when 3,561 took advantage of the visit.

At the Bargersville stop, visitors will get to connect with several local organizations who will offer additional displays and interactive opportunities in the afternoon on Thursday and Friday, as well as all day Saturday.

The Johnson County Public Library will offer an exhibit about the history of libraries in Indiana. The Johnson County Museum will bring re-enactors, from early settlers of the area to a Civil War soldier, and offer guests the chance to handle historic reproduction items. The museum will also offer an educational demonstration about how locomotives work, which coincides with its upcoming transportation exhibit.

Public history students from Franklin College will present research findings from the college’s Roger Douglas Branigin Papers (Indiana’s governor, 1965-1969, and a Franklin native), as well as have a hand in facilitating the learning experiences of younger students.

Even though visitors only get a stationary look at the Indiana Bicentennial Train, its statewide tour requires the cooperative effort of several additional railroads, led

by The Indiana Rail Road Company and supported by Norfolk Southern Corporation. Unlike city streets and state and federal highways, private companies that move the nation’s freight own most of the 140,000-mile American rail network.

“Getting the train on the tracks takes an extraordinary effort on the part of our staff and partners, but the train and its associated activities are continuing to generate a lot of enthusiasm for the bicentennial,” said John A. Herbst, IHS President and CEO. “It is designed to have communities look to the past and then contemplate Indiana’s future and what qualities will make us more successful.”

The Bicentennial Train and its accompanying activities are all free and open to the public, operating 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Every visitor will receive a complimentary pass to visit IHS’s Indiana Experience at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center.

I am of the opinion that we should start sharing how we handle money with our children when they are young. It’s a little too late when they are getting ready to leave the safety of our home to go to college or start working full-time.

A milestone took place in August for our family. I’m not referring to another school year starting back up. I’m not referring to us getting a puppy (although our youngest keeps asking for one). I am referring to our oldest son turning 16. Sixteen! Where has the time gone?

Money was a mystery to me when I was growing up. I didn’t understand how to earn it or how to prioritize where the income should go. I learned quickly late in high school and college. During my early post-college days, I felt like I had more money than I knew what to do with. I learned that it goes quick when you pay rent, utilities, gas, insurance and the fun stuff that comes with being on your own for the very first time. It took lots of practice and mistakes to get better at managing money.

I don’t want it to be that hard for my boys. My desire is that they understand the hard work that goes into making an income and prioritizing their needs and wants. So far, so good, based on our oldest son’s experience. Here’s hoping he continues down this path and that he can truly rely on himself to make the right choices when Not only did our son turn 16, he purchased his first vehicle.
