THE LATEST HOMETOWN HAPPENINGS AROUND FISHERS
Writer / Larry Lannan
After a detailed review of health department revenues and expenses, Fishers city officials offered one key reassurance: No current staff members will lose their jobs. However, one open nursing position will remain unfilled. Cost savings are being achieved through several measures, including reduced rent—thanks to the department’s planned relocation to the underconstruction community center—and cuts to utilities, maintenance and staff training. Officials emphasized that while training will be scaled back, essential professional development will continue.
Fishers initially projected a $480,000 budget shortfall for the local health department in 2026, following significant cuts to the state’s Health First Indiana plan. Cost-cutting measures have since reduced that gap to $200,000. Mayor Scott Fadness told the Fishers Board of Health that his administration will work with the City Council during the 2026 budget process to identify funding to cover the remaining shortfall.
The Fishers Board of Zoning Appeals has unanimously approved a zoning variance for Rivian, the electric vehicle manufacturer, paving the way for a new facility in the area. The site—planned for a location north of 96th Street on Masters Road, near the Prema auto racing team headquarters— will support sales, service, maintenance, charging, repair and storage of both new and used electric vehicles. Rivian representatives confirmed to the board that the facility will be dedicated exclusively to electric vehicles.
Currently, the closest operations of this type are located in Fort Wayne and Cincinnati.
Tim Brown, chief financial officer for Hamilton Southeastern Schools, is preparing for potential funding challenges tied to the 2025 Indiana General Assembly session. Following a May meeting of the school board’s finance committee, Brown told LarryInFishers that while short-term budget shortfalls are being addressed through strategic, minimally disruptive cost-cutting, the long-term impact of recent legislative changes remains “to be determined.”
A surprise celebration erupted at Fall Creek Intermediate as students and staff filled the gymnasium in early May. Anticipation turned to cheers when beloved math and science teacher Michael Teal was named the Hamilton Southeastern Schools District Teacher of the Year. Students had built the excitement with a loud, unified chant of “Mr. Teal! Mr. Teal!” just moments before the announcement.
Abby Taylor will step down as president of the Hamilton Southeastern Education Association effective July 1, citing family reasons in a recent social media post. Succeeding her will be Tyler Zerbe, who has been serving as the association’s vice president for secondary education. Zerbe will officially assume the role of president on July 1.
In an effort to streamline operations and strengthen coordination across
departments, Hamilton County is restructuring the leadership of its emergency services. The county commissioners have named Mike Hubbs, current executive director of communications and head of the Hamilton County 911 Center, as the new director of administration. He will succeed Lee Buckingham, who is retiring after more than 30 years of public service. Additionally, Chad Knecht, executive director of emergency management, will expand his oversight to include both the Emergency Management Agency and the 911 Center. These changes are part of the county’s creation of a unified Emergency Operations Department.
To combat the growing threat of property fraud, the Hamilton County Recorder’s Office has launched a new and improved alert system—but residents must re-enroll to stay protected. The office has transitioned from its previous service provider, Doxpop. com, to a new free service called Property Fraud Alert. This tool notifies users whenever a document is recorded in their name. Those previously enrolled must sign up again to continue receiving alerts. Registration is free and easy: Residents can visit www.propertyfraudalert.com or call the hotline at 800-728-3858.

PAWS & PLAY
DOG RESORT AND TRAINING CENTER
REDEFINING PET CARE IN FISHERS
Writer / Renée Larr Photographer / Wade Carignan
Tucked away in the heart of Fishers, Paws & Play Dog Resort and Training Center is leading a revolution in pet care. Founded in 2007 as a modest training facility called K9 Camp, it has transformed into a 26,000-square-foot haven dedicated to enhancing dogs’ mental and physical well-being. Through years of observation, professional development and a deep understanding of canine behavior, Paws & Play reimagines what doggy daycare can and should be.
While many pet owners envision daycare as a place for dogs to burn off energy, the team at Paws & Play recognized that dogs require more than just physical activity. They need structure, stimulation and enrichment— especially in a post-pandemic world where many dogs have grown up in quieter, more isolated environments.
“COVID changed a lot of dogs,” says Taylor Campbell, training manager. “Many were born into homes with limited socialization, shaping an entirely different generation of dogs. Just running them ragged all day doesn’t always work anymore.”
Through ongoing education, including conferences like the Association for Professional Dog Trainers and resources from industry experts such as The Dog
Gurus, the staff developed a philosophy that focuses on enrichment as a cornerstone of care. Instead of emphasizing exhaustion, they aim for fulfillment.
Paws & Play recognizes that no two dogs are alike in terms of what kinds of activities and how much activity they enjoy. Instead of trying to put each dog into a box, their philosophy accentuates embracing the individuality of dogs.
Not every dog is suited for group play or enjoys that kind of socialization; they may prefer spending time with a human friend instead. Some dogs require action-packed days, while others prefer more time to relax in their private rooms. “A dog’s day here isn’t just about play,” Campbell says. “It’s about matching them with activities and companions that help them thrive mentally and emotionally.”
This philosophy comes to life in their customizable daycare offerings. Every dog starts with a base day boarding fee of $18, but owners can add various activities to suit their dog’s needs. High-energy pups might benefit from multiple activities such as enrichment activities, group play, play sessions or leash walks, while more mellow or senior dogs might opt for quiet enrichment like puzzle toys or soothing
music sessions.
Yes, Paws & Play offers music lessons for dogs. “We bring in different sounds and tones to stimulate their brains in new ways,” Campbell says. “It might sound silly, but dogs respond incredibly well to auditory enrichment.”
Daily enrichment activities include canvas paintings, nose work, agility, seasonal events like a tiki bar-themed retreat and even one-on-one training brush-ups. Paws & Play releases a monthly enrichment activity calendar so pet parents can choose the right one for their dogs.
“We often start a new dog with a calmer day just to get a feel for their personality and so they can adjust to the new environment,” Sydney Green, reservation specialist manager, says. “Then we can talk with the owner and adjust from there. If a dog doesn’t enjoy group play, we won’t force it. Our goal is never to do something they don’t want to do.”
That owner-first mindset is essential to Paws & Play’s philosophy. Whether you’re a seasoned doggy daycare veteran or a nervous first timer, you’ll find the same level of transparency, customization and compassion.
The facility itself supports their flexible approach. With 10,000 square feet of dedicated play space, the facility features five separate outdoor yards, all turfed for cleanliness, plus multiple indoor play zones tailored for both small and large groups. For dogs needing more individual attention, dedicated one-on-one enrichment rooms are stocked with toys and tools to keep curious minds busy.
On the lodging side, the resort offers more than 100 rooms, ranging from cozy 3-by-4foot bungalows for pups under 30 pounds to spacious 10-by-6-foot cabanas and beachhouse suites. Each room features solid walls for privacy, Kuranda beds for comfort and adheres to daily cleaning protocols. Whether a dog is there for daycare or a more extended stay, every detail reflects a commitment to care.
One of the training center’s greatest strengths lies in its ability to work with dogs across the behavioral spectrum, including those with anxiety or reactivity issues. Dog training is at the core of everything Paws & Play does. Every other facet of the facility, including the daycare program, has been built on the principles of training. With four experienced dog trainers, they are equipped to help keep dogs successful both inside and outside of the facility.
Their Stay & Train packages immerse dogs in a focused learning environment, featuring daily obedience work that includes sit, down, recall, loose-leash walking and stay—
progressing over one to four weeks toward off-leash reliability and realworld skills.
They also offer Play & Train, which combines structured group daycare with training sessions to reinforce commands such as “heel,” “place” and “leave it” in social settings. For dogs who may not thrive in a group setting, they get one-on-one play sessions with a staff member instead.
For owners, private lessons—on-site, in-home or virtual—provide customized behavior plans.
Paws & Play also offers spa services, such as full grooming, baths, nail trims and more. Just like the rest of the facility, the groomers work from fear-free values, meaning they do things at each dog’s pace to ensure a positive experience with grooming, with the intent of building trust and relationships.
Ultimately, what sets Paws & Play apart is the breadth of services they offer and how intentionally those services are delivered. It’s a daycare experience rooted in science, refined through experience and guided by the belief that every dog is an individual.
As more pet parents seek thoughtful, personalized care for their furry family members, Paws & Play stands out as a leader in Fishers and the broader world of dog care. Because at Paws & Play, daycare isn’t just about wearing your dog out—it’s about lifting them up.

MILK BANK MARKS 20 YEARS OF SAVING NEWBORN LIVES
Writer / Renée Larr
In 2005, a group of visionary health care providers, hospital systems and public health leaders recognized a serious gap in infant care: access to safe, pasteurized donor human milk. This collaboration led to the founding of the Milk Bank, an Indianapolisbased nonprofit with a mission as powerful as it is precise: to significantly improve infant health outcomes and reduce infant mortality rates by providing access to donor milk, a life-saving resource for many newborns.
Now celebrating its 20th year, the Milk Bank has grown into a regional leader, supplying nearly 700,000 ounces of human milk annually to hospitals and families across Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri and beyond. That translates to over 2 million feedings for the most vulnerable newborns — critically ill infants in neonatal intensive care units who often cannot tolerate formula or may not have access to their mother’s own milk.
“Human milk is the standard of care,” said Freedom
Kolb, chief executive officer.
“The CDC, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization all recommend it, especially for fragile infants in the NICU.”
Hospitals receive roughly 80% of the donated milk, but outpatient
demand is increasing, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the Milk Bank has continued to meet the growing demand, ensuring that babies can stay home and out of the hospital, which is a win for families and public health.
To meet this growing need, the Milk Bank relies on around 150 new donors every month. This community support is invaluable. The screening process is similar to blood donation and includes lifestyle questions, a blood test (at the bank’s expense) and a review of medications. Donors often have surplus milk after their own infants have weaned or reached feeding milestones. Sadly, 10% of donations come from bereaved families — parents honoring the life of a child lost by giving other babies a

chance to survive.
Yet, donor milk remains a relatively unknown resource. “People know about blood and organ donation,” Kolb said. “But not enough know about milk banking or the infant mortality crisis.”
Education and outreach are essential parts of the Milk Bank’s mission. They collaborate with hospitals, pediatricians, doulas, lactation consultants and public health organizations to raise awareness. They also partner with organizations like Versiti Blood Centers to provide convenient access points across the Midwest.
Financial support is just as vital as milk donations. As a nonprofit, the Milk Bank relies on philanthropic dollars to fund bereavement programs, workplace lactation
initiatives and a Medical Relief Fund, which ensures that the ability to pay never dictates whether an infant receives the milk they need. Community support can make a significant difference in the lives of these infants and their families.
Despite challenges such as fluctuating birth rates and changing hospital protocols, the Milk Bank has consistently met demand for the past decade, even during the national formula shortage. With donor numbers on the rise, they are hopeful for the future.
“One ounce can change a life,” Kolb said. “It’s a message of hope. No family stands alone.”

LINCOLN SQUARE PANCAKE HOUSE

Lincoln Square Pancake House, a cherished family-owned restaurant brand in central Indiana, has expanded its footprint with a new location at 8902 E. 96th St. in Fishers. The establishment officially opened its doors shortly after Christmas 2024, ushering in the new year with its signature blend of hearty breakfasts and warm hospitality.
The 96th Street venue is the 15th addition to the Lincoln Square family, which has been serving the community since its inception in 1989. George and Helen Katris immigrated to the United States from Greece in 1976. They raised their children, Chris and Denise, in Chicago while George worked in the restaurant business, hoping to one day own his own establishment. In 1989, George learned about a prime location in Kokomo and decided to take a risk. He opened the Lincoln Square Pancake House on Lincoln Road in Kokomo. As his children went off to college, he went on to open additional locations in northern Indiana.
Pete Apostolou, George’s nephew, oversees
the latest location as the owner and managing partner. As a Fishers resident for more than 15 years, Apostolou says he is excited to bring the beloved eatery to his local community.
“We’ve been eyeing Fishers for quite some time,” Apostolou says. “Finding a spot with ample parking, good visibility and sufficient space was crucial. This location checked all those boxes.” The restaurant occupies a 3,000-square-foot space, previously home to a bakery, and features a welcoming patio area for outdoor dining.
True to its roots, Lincoln Square Pancake House continues to offer a menu filled with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, a testament to its commitment to supporting local farmers and businesses. Patrons can enjoy breakfast favorites all day. Lunch options are equally enticing, featuring a variety of all-American meals crafted to satisfy diverse palates.
The restaurant’s unwavering commitment to quality and community is evident in its operations. Each location showcases the character and charm of its neighborhood, fostering a sense of belonging among
to provide our guests with great food at a fair price, served promptly by friendly and professional staff in a clean and comfortable environment,” Apostolou says. The team at Lincoln Square Pancake House values each and every one of its patrons and strives to create a welcoming community for all.
In addition to dine-in services, Lincoln Square Pancake House offers catering for various events, allowing guests to enjoy their delicious offerings beyond the restaurant’s walls. This service underscores the brand’s dedication to meeting the needs of its customers, whether they’re hosting a business meeting or a family gathering.
The Fishers location operates daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., welcoming both early risers and brunch enthusiasts. With its combination of delectable dishes, inviting atmosphere and community-centric approach, the new Lincoln Square Pancake House, located on 96th Street, is poised to become a favorite dining destination for residents and visitors in the area.

FROM TECH TO TABLE
CHRIS BAGGOTT’S TYNER POND FARM LEADS REGENERATIVE AGRICULTURE MOVEMENT
Writer / Renee Larr
Just over a decade ago, Chris Baggott was a driving force behind one of Indiana’s most successful tech startups. As co-founder of ExactTarget, later acquired by Salesforce, Baggott helped revolutionize digital marketing. But today, you’re more likely to find him walking the pastures of Tyner Pond Farm in Hancock County, where he’s spearheading a different kind of revolution: regenerative agriculture.
“We wanted to do something real, something physical that would positively impact our environment, health and community,” Baggott says. “Philanthropy for us became about action, not just writing checks.”
Founded in 2010, Tyner Pond Farm began with 275 acres of overworked corn and soybean land. Today, they manage nearly 1,000 acres across six farms with a single goal: restoring life to the soil.
Baggott’s pivot from tech entrepreneur to farmer may seem unlikely, but his entrepreneurial spirit has been key to Tyner Pond Farm’s success. “It’s very different from software,” he says. “In tech, you can just scale by spinning up another server. On the farm, we have fixed resources—acres, animals and time. But the mission is the same: creating something that empowers people.”
Inspired by Michael Pollan’s “The Omnivore’s Dilemma” and a TED Talk by ecologist Allan Savory, Baggott became passionate about regenerative agriculture. This method emphasizes restoring soil health through natural processes, such as rotational grazing. In regenerative agriculture, the focus is not just on sustainable practices but on actively improving the health of the land. “Savory’s talk changed how I thought about animals and the land,” Baggott says. “It’s not that animals destroy the earth. It’s how we
manage them that matters.”
At Tyner Pond Farm, cattle and chickens aren’t just products but tools for regenerating soil biology. Baggott’s son, Jim, leads daily operations, meticulously planning grazing patterns months in advance. Temporary fencing allows them to move the animals frequently, mimicking natural herd migrations and giving pastures time to rest and regrow.
“The goal isn’t to raise cattle,” Baggott says. “The goal is to build soil. Healthy soil leads to healthy plants, animals and people.”
It’s a system that takes time, often up to seven years, for depleted land to recover, but the results are striking. “Where the soil was once dead, now we see biodiversity: insects, birds, native grasses,” Baggott says. “The land is alive again.”
Tyner Pond Farm sells directly to customers through its website, offering free delivery across Central Indiana. “You don’t need to buy half a cow,” Baggott says. “You can shop like you would at any grocery store, just with better food.”
Transparency is at the heart of the farm’s philosophy. Visitors are welcome at any time, and Baggott often shares photos and updates on social media. “We’re the opposite of industrial agriculture,” he says. “There are no locked gates. No secrecy. You should know where your food comes from.”
Customers visit Tyner Pond Farm sites for various reasons, including environmental concerns, support for local businesses and an interest in nutrition. And yes, many say the meat tastes better. But the biggest surprise is how buying premium meat can actually save money.
“One woman told me her grocery bill went down after switching to us,” Baggott says. “When food is nutrient-dense, you eat less. You’re not snacking constantly because your body is being nourished.”
The idea that food is medicine is becoming more central to Tyner Pond Farm’s message. “We’re focused on nutrient intensity,” Baggott says. “Our animals live longer, eat real grass and are never treated with antibiotics or vaccines. It’s a totally different product than what you find at the store.”
Despite their success, Baggott isn’t interested in endless expansion. “We’re not trying to be the biggest,” Baggott says. “When we sell out, we refer customers to partner farms.” These partnerships are helping other farmers transition from commodity crops to regenerative livestock, using Tyner Pond Farm’s customer base and processing infrastructure as a support system.
“It’s about changing the model,” Baggott says. “We’re proving that small, local and sustainable is viable. And once people experience the difference—whether in taste, health or principle—they don’t go back.”
Baggott sees the rise of direct-toconsumer farming as part of a broader shift comparable to the digital music revolution. “It used to be you got your food from whoever had shelf space. Now, with the internet, people have a choice. Just like Spotify empowered musicians, this empowers farmers.”
Baggott measures success not by sales volume but by its impact on the community and its contributions to ecological healing. “If more people eat locally, eat better and support farms that regenerate the earth, we all win,” he says. This impact on the community includes providing healthier food options, supporting local economies and promoting environmental stewardship. It’s about more than just selling meat; it’s about creating a healthier, more sustainable food system for everyone.

APPLIED INNOVATION
Writer / Renee Larr
When Applied Innovation opened its newest location in Fishers, Indiana, earlier this year, it wasn’t just about expanding a business — it was about deepening a legacy. Founded in 1987, the company began as a facsimile dealer and has since evolved into a comprehensive provider of technology solutions. Now led by second-generation President Casey Lowery, Applied Innovation continues to reinvent itself to remain relevant in a rapidly changing business landscape.
“We started as a fax machine company,” Lowery said. “But over time, we moved into imaging, then automation, and eventually technology services. That adaptability has kept us going for 38 years.”
Applied’s business now rests on three core pillars: imaging, automation and technology. The imaging division encompasses a range of services, including digital printing and managed print services, as well as specialized capabilities such as wide-format and flatbed printing. Its automation services help clients streamline operations by digitizing paper-based workflows. And in the ever-expanding technology space, the company offers managed IT services “from the server room to the cell phone,” as Lowery said.
In recent years, Applied Innovation has expanded into adjacent service areas, including document shredding and medical waste disposal. This strategic diversification
ensures the company remains a one-stop solution for the modern office environment.
The Fishers location at 10080 E. 121st St., Suite 133, represents a significant step into the Indianapolis metropolitan market. With other branches in Michigan, Ohio and Florida, Fishers was a natural fit. “We’ve known Fishers was a growing, vibrant market,” Lowery said. “It’s also centrally located, which makes logistics and distribution easier between our other facilities.”
Currently staffed by 8 to 10 team members, the Fishers office is already becoming deeply embedded in the local community — something Applied Innovation not only prioritizes but cherishes as an integral part of its operations.
That commitment to community is part of what Lowery refers to as the company’s “Applied Chemistry.” Born out of a companywide effort to define its culture, Applied Chemistry encompasses 12 Elements of Success, such as creativity, service, family, fun and humility. These values aren’t just internal jargon. They’re lived every day across its 575 employees.
“Our culture started organically, but we’ve been intentional about it,” Lowery said. “We even built our own version of the periodic table based on employee feedback. Someone jokingly called it ‘Applied Chemistry’ — and it stuck.”
The company doesn’t just talk about culture;
it backs it up with action. For the company’s 25th anniversary, it launched a volunteer initiative that challenges every employee to contribute 19 hours of community service annually on company time. That tradition has evolved into quarterly challenges that encourage teams across departments and regions to collaborate on volunteer efforts, fostering both internal unity and external impact. The winning team selects a charity to receive a corporate donation.
Despite its growth and innovation, maintaining a family-owned and independent status remains a key priority. “We feel a strong sense of responsibility to the families who helped build this business,” Lowery said. “Remaining independent is how we protect that legacy.”
Lowery officially took over as president in October 2023, but his involvement dates back to 2006. His father, the company’s founder, remains actively involved, especially in the technology and automation divisions. That continuity between generations reflects a broader ethos at Applied: honoring the past, innovating for the future and always serving with purpose.

A house is always more than just a house. It’s where people raise their kids, where they eat, where they gather to socialize with friends and neighbors, and where they live so much of life. Peace of mind for the state of a home is always desired, but so often the required repairs are unable to be made, and that little extra piece of peace gets lost.
Chelsea and Peter Kopelman were able to get some of that peace with Hometown Window. From the purchase of their home in Carmel seven years ago, the Kopelmans knew the 28 original wood windows would eventually have to be replaced. This was easier said than done. In addition to affordability, the Kopelmans took into account that the back of their house faces a golf course and is very visible. They wanted black, no-seam windows inside and out, which made the search even more difficult. For two to three years, they vetted companies that would be able to provide everything they needed.
A neighbor’s referral to Hometown Window was the game changer. The Kopelmans got the look and the quote they were looking for. From the beginning, Chelsea Kopelman says, the Hometown team was doing their jobs well.
“We live a busy schedule with three kids. I run my own business. My husband works
full-time. So we don’t have a ton of time to sit down with window salespeople for two hours to do the whole heat lamp test, and all the things,” Kopelman says. “We communicated that with the Hometown crew before they came over for the estimate, and they were really efficient with our time and respectful of our time, which was a nice surprise.”
“THEY WERE REALLY EFFICIENT WITH OUR TIME AND RESPECTFUL OF OUR TIME, WHICH WAS A NICE SURPRISE.”
—PETER KOPELMAN
Kopelman was impressed by the respectful conduct and interaction with the Hometown crew, especially when the Kopelmans’ recently refinished deck was scratched by a ladder.
“We brought [the damage] up to them, and they completely fixed the issue, no charge to us. A lot of contractors would just say, you know what, you gotta find somebody else to fix that, that’s not in our scope,” Kopelman
says. “[But Hometown] just completely took care of it, which was fantastic.”
The quality of service throughout the entire project has encouraged Kopelman and her husband to pick Hometown for their future project of replacing their front windows.
“I’m getting so many compliments anytime anybody sees them. We’ve just been getting a lot of compliments, people saying that it looks like a brand-new house.”
In addition to replacing and selling windows, Hometown also replaces and sells doors. Though Hometown offers the national brand Andersen Windows & Doors, the team is made up of entirely Indianapolis-area employees. Any project is customizable. They have a certified white-glove installation team, whose years of experience guarantee a good installation process and end result.

BUILDING FRIENDSHIPS AND COMMUNITY
BFF INDY UNITES MORE THAN 25,000 WOMEN ACROSS CENTRAL INDIANA
Writer / Renée Larr
When FrancesMary Loughead moved to Indianapolis in 2021, she quickly discovered how difficult it could be to build new friendships as an adult. After graduating from college, getting married and relocating twice in a matter of months, she found herself working remotely in a city she hardly knew, with no built-in social circle. Recognizing that many women were in the same situation, especially in the wake of the pandemic, Loughead decided to take action. What started as a few “Bachelor” watch parties in her apartment quickly grew into a movement: BFF Indy.
Now a thriving community with more than 25,000 members, BFF Indy hosts a diverse range of events across the city designed to help women connect, make friends and discover all that Indianapolis has to offer. From Monday walks and a run club to book discussions and yoga classes, BFF Indy provides a diverse range of experiences. Events are intentionally spread out geographically, often popping up in Carmel, downtown, Broad Ripple and beyond.
“One of our key missions is to ensure that friendship knows no boundaries,” Loughead
said. “We strive to create a space where women from all walks of life feel embraced and included.”
The events are often free or affordable, aligning with BFF Indy’s commitment to accessibility. “I’m in my 20s, and I understand the financial constraints,” Loughead said. “We want women to be able to participate without worrying about their budget.”
Participants range in age from 18 to 70 and come from diverse backgrounds. To help foster connections across this broad spectrum, BFF Indy has created community chats within its Facebook group, segmented by age and life stage, including spaces specifically for moms and those without children.
While many members attend in-person events, others engage online through social media and the active Facebook group. “We know life is busy,” Loughead said. “Not everyone can make it to events, so we try to offer multiple ways to get involved.”
What sets BFF Indy apart, Loughead said, is
the emotional openness and encouragement shared among its members. “People are surprisingly vulnerable,” she said. “We’ve seen divorced women reaching out for support, new moms asking for advice and women from all backgrounds uplifting each other. It’s not just about fun events — it’s about community.”
There’s no membership fee, and anyone interested can RSVP to events through BFF Indy’s website or follow along on Instagram and Facebook. While RSVPs are helpful for planning, walk-ins are also welcome.
Looking ahead, Loughead hopes BFF Indy can continue to introduce women to one another and to the city of Indianapolis itself. “When I moved here, I didn’t even know the best places to eat or shop,” she said. “BFF Indy has helped me and so many others fall in love with this city.” By joining BFF Indy, members can not only expand their social circle but also discover the best of Indianapolis and find a supportive community that’s always there for them.

TENDERLOIN FAQS
WHAT IS A TENDERLOIN SANDWICH?
When someone refers to a tenderloin anywhere in Indiana, they’re probably talking about the pork cutlet served on a bun - but go anywhere else and clarification will be needed. Pork tenderloin is pounded thin with a mallet and then hand-breaded, fried and served in jaw-dropping proportion to a toasted bun.
WHAT GOES ON A TYPICAL TENDERLOIN?
Typical toppings include mayonnaise, ketchup and onions. Often, tomatoes,
lettuce, pickles and mustard are added. As for sides, most are served with chips, onion rings or French fries.
HOW DO YOU EAT A TENDERLOIN?
Devouring the tenderloin is an art all its own. While there’s no wrong way to tackle a tenderloin, you can stack it, edge it, half it or just dig in. Make sure you have extra napkins on hand, because things might get messy.
ARE TENDERLOINS ALWAYS AS BIG AS MY FACE?
Don’t be alarmed if you can’t see the plate, and if it seems the bun is far too small for the size-of-your-face tenderloin. This is normal. For those with smaller appetites, check out Dooley O’Tooles mini option.
