Natural Resources Staff and Tolowa Dunes Stewards cleanup Pacific Shores and Kellogg Beach for the California Coastal Cleanup Event through a community event that allows direct involvement in its solution.
The event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, organized by the Ocean Conservancy. California Coastal Cleanup Day is the largest volunteer event in the US and International Coastal Cleanup Day is the largest volunteer event on the planet!
TDN Natural Resources Staff, with funding support from the U.S. EPA, organized a successful cleanup. We would like to thank Tolowa Dunes Stewards and Volunteers as well as Recology and Del Norte Solid Waste
Management Authority for their participation.
What is Coastal Cleanup Day?
California Coastal Cleanup is normally the third Saturday of September, but due to COVID-19 the event occurred all month long! The Cleanup brings awareness to our marine litter problem
We picked up 1 ton of trash!
