At Calvary, our heart is that all may know of the life-changing power that comes through a relationship with Jesus! Each year, we seek ways to love our neighbors, travel to the nations, raise funds for projects that make an eternal impact, and send monthly support to our partner ministries and missionaries who are on the front lines reaching the lost.
God has called each of us individually to be a part of the Great Commission - that everyone, in every nation, has access to the Gospel. When we work together, we can be a part of reaching the 3 billion people who have never even heard His name. Our prayer is that you join this faithful community at Calvary who are passionate about generosity!

WHY WE DO IT
As we read through the scriptures, there are 1,600 verses that show God’s heart and passion for the world. We see this played out in the greatest act of generosity known to man. When God gave us His one and only son, Jesus. Wouldn’t we want to do everything we could to share this gift of grace with the world? To the tribes and nations who have never heard? To the family in our town that hasn’t had a chance to know Him?
Their stories are yet to be finished. There is room for their name in the Book of Life, but someone must tell them. This is why we do missions at Calvary Church: So that all may hear.
2023 GOAL - $435,000
Our dream this year for Calvary is to raise $435,000 for missions. This would allow us to support our 130+ ministry partners each month along with providing funds for special projects in each region of the world! Check out these projects starting on page 8!

MISSIONS $435,000
YOUR MISSIONS ROLE AT CALVARY
It can be easy to think of missions as the occupation of a group of people. Those that pack up all they have and move to a foreign country. But missions is not something THEY do, it is a calling God has given each one of us. The way we function in that calling will look different for everyone. We pray that 2023 will be a year you grow in your missions calling. Here are a few ways to do more this year!
1ST - PRAY
Start praying for missions. Ask God to break your heart for what breaks His. Find a country or a people group that you can pray over during your prayer time. Commit to stand with a missionary in prayer each week!
When you pray, ask God to show you how He wants you to give. What sacrifice is He calling you to make so that others have a chance to hear the gospel? Habakkuk 2:2 tells us to write that vision down and pray about it!
This may be beyond what you can do with your natural income and require you to take a step of faith. Remember, God will supply all your needs (Philippians 4:19) and He can do exceeding abundantly more than we can even imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

Missions is not a calling for one. Missions is the responsibility of all.
2ND - ENGAGE
Don’t just listen to stories about missions - engage! Find ways to live a missional life so that God can use you to change the trajectory of others’ lives. Here are three ways you can exercise your mission muscles!
LEARN - Missions works when we set aside what we think we know and find ways to engage with the culture of those we want to reach. These people might live halfway around the world or right down the street. Working to understand the way they think, communicate, and believe will allow you to build stronger relationships and open more doors. Consider taking a class, reading a book, making a new friend, or interacting with a different culture.
LIVE - When we choose to live a missional lifestyle, no matter what country our home is in, we will begin to see the harvest that is around us. Embracing the attitude “God has placed me here to be a witness” in every part of life will change how you relate to family, neighbors, coworkers, and your community. Missions is not just events, activities, or trips but instead, your whole life lived intentionally sharing Christ with others at the center.
LOVE - Engaging with missions requires us to learn how to love people we have never met, love people we can’t understand, and love people we don’t even like! This love is the key that opens doors for the message of Christ to take root. Without it, Scripture tells us we are only a clanging cymbal making a ridiculous noise. Allow God to fill your heart with love for others!
3RD - GIVE
At Calvary, we believe that God instructs us to tithe - giving back to God the first 10% of our income. The tithe is used for the operations and day-to-day ministry of a church. Giving to missions is above and beyond the tithe. When we come together as the body of Christ, each doing our part, we can see the extraordinary take place! Through God’s blessings, sacrifice, and intentional living of many, we, as a church, are able to give thousands of dollars to expand the Kingdom of God and see life change throughout our community, our country, and the rest of the world.
After praying about what God would want you to give, take bold steps of generosity and see how God blesses your gift. Remember, every gift matters to God. It’s not the size of the gift, but the obedience to God’s voice that matters most.

Giving to missions at Calvary can happen in several ways:
GIVE ONLINE - Click the GIVE tab on the Calvary website and scroll to Give Today. You can register for an account or give without an account. Simply select Missions from the drop-down box, type in the amount you want to give, and follow the instructions.
GIVE IN PERSON - There are giving stations with envelopes located throughout the hallways at Calvary. When donating to Missions, fill out the envelope and select Missions on the front.

NORTH AMERICA
Often, when we think of missions, we dream of far-off places. In reality, there is a need to tell others that Christ is alive and well right here at home. Missions in North America may look different than working to translate the Bible into a foreign language or hiking mountains to a far-off village, but the need is just as urgent. Even though our streets are lined with churches, over 156 million Americans are unreached with the gospel.
SPECIAL PROJECT - GOAL $15,000
For almost 70 years, Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission has been a light in our community for the homeless and low-income. Whether looking for a bed, a meal, a warm place to sit, or most importantly, a friendship with Jesus, the staff at TGRM are ready to serve. As a ministry that takes no government funding, they are reliant on partners like Calvary to provide the funds they need to offer life skills training, shelter, meals, spiritual enrichment, and much more.
This year our dream is to strengthen TGRM’s ability to love the unloved by helping to upgrade their kitchen. Each week the ministry feeds 100s of people to meet their physical need. This act of kindness opens the door so that their hearts are ready to hear the gospel and feed their spiritual hunger!

LATIN AMERICA
On a continent that is full of religious buildings and traditions, only one in six people have received an adequate presentation of the gospel. We are so thankful for the many churches and missionaries that work tirelessly to reach the millions of people who still need to hear. The only solution is to reach them wherever they are, by every means possible!
SPECIAL PROJECT - GOAL $21,600
ChildHope is an organization in Peru that sponsors children in extreme poverty to attend an Assemblies of God Christian school. This sponsorship allows children’s lives to be transformed through education, discipleship, and works of compassion for the child and their family. By coming together as a church, we will be able to sponsor 50 children for the entire year!

EUROPE
Europe can often be forgotten when we dream of missions locations full of jungles and deserts. Less than 3% of Europe’s population are evangelical Christians making it nearly impossible for the church to grow. Many in this culture walk by ancient churches every day but they have not heard the good news of the gospel.
SPECIAL PROJECT - GOAL $25,000
Our friends at BalkanREACH exist to revive the church, evangelize the lost, mobilize apostolic teams, and plant churches through the power of the Holy Spirit among unreached people in the Balkans. Over 99% of the 42 million people in the Balkans are spiritually lost with limited access to the gospel. In many areas, there are no missionaries, no believers, no evangelical churches, and no opportunity to hear the gospel.
Our financial partnership will provide the funds they need to train new pastors and plant churches among the unreached people. These communities will come to life when a team of believers begins to shine the light of Christ!

AFRICA
From the cold oceans of South Africa to the hot sands of the Sahara Desert, the continent of Africa is home to over 200,000,000 Africans who do not have access to the gospel. Never before has there been more need and more opportunity. We must join hands and work diligently to reach the millions of people who need to know the hope of Christ.
SPECIAL PROJECT - GOAL $11,000
In March, a team from Calvary will travel to South Africa to partner with a small church in a rural town. This team will take one of Calvary’s favorite outreach tools, Serve Week, to the people of Hennenman to help open doors in the community for the local church. Your donations will allow us to bless the community through random acts of kindness, share the Gospel in the local schools, and provide the church with a new water tank system that allows the neighbors access to water when the town is not able to consistently provide it.

EURASIA
This region covers the most land mass and includes 45 nations. Although each country is unique, its high concentration of unreached people groups ties them together with a huge need for the gospel to be brought. Often these countries do not welcome missionaries so strategic and prayerful plans must be made to share about Christ, train new believers, and plant churches.
SPECIAL PROJECT - $10,000
Many missionaries in this region work in their countries through a Business As Missions (BAM) platform. This allows them to live and build relationships in a country that does not allow missionaries. This October, we will send a team from Calvary to partner with one of these missionaries in Turkey. These funds will allow the mission team on the ground a chance to grow their impact in the community and expand the opportunities they have to share the gospel.

NORTHERN ASIA
Across Northern Asia, 1.3 billion people are spiritually lost without the message of Jesus. Missions in Northern Asia exist to establish communities of faith by way of creative access projects and unconventional strategies. People have a hunger to know the truth and we have unique opportunities to provide access to THE TRUTH!
SPECIAL PROJECT - GOAL $40,000
Today there are still 1,700 people groups who do not have the Bible in their language. This year we are partnering with the Fire Bible to help provide a translation of the New Testament for the Uyghur people who live in northwest China. It is so important to provide access to God’s Word for every people group, so they can understand spiritual truths and apply Scripture to their daily life, allowing them to have a deep relationship with the Lord.

ASIA PACIFIC
Four major religions fill the countries of Asia Pacific: Buddhism, Hinduism, Animism, and Islam. Each religion controls these nations in different ways, but One Name can set them free - Jesus! By being a part of missions that is happening in this region, we are helping the gospel go to places it has never been! 95% of these nations have never heard the name of Jesus.
SPECIAL PROJECT - GOAL $30,000
Our friends at Destiny Rescue play a leading role in ending the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children around the world. Each child’s rescue looks different as agents work relentlessly to bring them to freedom. Currently, rescue teams are active in 10 countries across the globe, they have rescued over 10,000 lives, and have aided in hundreds of arrests. After being rescued, the path to continual freedom for each child starts! Be a part of rescuing many lives this year through our donation of $30,000!

Their heart for the vulnerable shines bright as they provide programs designed to bring solutions to the root causes of poverty and hunger. ARE MY DONATIONS TAX DEDUCTIBLE? Yes, all donations made to Calvary Church are tax deductible. At the end of each year, we mail giving statements for all donations made.
WHAT DOES OUR GOAL OF $435,000 INCLUDE? Our annual missions goal allows us to support our partners monthly, send funds to each of the special projects, and cover missions expenses like hosting missions guests, missions events, and promotions.
WHAT IF WE GIVE MORE THAN OUR GOAL? After we take time to celebrate (woohoo!!) we would evaluate our current projects to see if there was a greater need, consider the many missions needs we receive each year, and review the list of missionaries that have asked to join the Calvary family. We believe in making commitments and then trusting God to do BIG things!
WHAT IF WE DON’T MAKE OUR GOAL? Calvary’s people always amaze us with their heart of generosity, but if our funds are short of the full goal, we would first send our committed monthly support to each partner. Next, we would decrease funding to each special project.

SOUTH AFRICA

VIRTUAL MISSION TRIP TO THAILAND
MAY 15 - MAY 20
Don’t miss this week-long experience as we journey to Thailand from the comfort of your own home! This unique adventure allows you to see what God is doing in the Buddhist world, meet missionaries who work there and interact with the locals. Our team will use daily devotions and videos Monday - Thursday to get a real sense of how God is moving in Southeast Asia. We will meet as a team on Friday and Saturday to connect with missionaries, hear their stories, and ask lots of questions!
CLEVELAND - CALVARY STUDENT MINISTRIES
JULY 9 - 14
This summer, CSM will travel to Cleveland, Ohio to spend a week working in cross-cultural communities and explore God’s amazing plan and purpose for their life! We will partner with veteran missionaries from the area to help run a kids’ summer camp, serve local ministries, and grow a passion for the Great Commission.
SERVE WEEK

TURKEY
OCTOBER 26 - NOVEMBER 6
This fall, we will send a small group from Calvary to the streets of Turkey. This mission trip will allow us to be a part of street evangelism in a very liberal Muslim city. As we meet people along our daily prayer walks, we will be able to start many conversations, potentially opening the doors for more interaction. This trip will be focused on planting many seeds and believing that in the future God will allow the missionaries a chance to water those seeds.
