COLOSSIANS 3:23-24

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

WHAT WE DO

At Calvary, our heart is that all would come to know the life-changing power that comes through a relationship with Jesus! Each year we aim to make an eternal impact by loving our neighbors, traveling to the nations, raising funds for projects, and sending monthly support to our partners who are on the front lines reaching the lost.

God has called each of us individually to be a part of the Great Commission - so that everyone, in every nation, has access to the Gospel. When we work together, we can reach the 3 billion people who have never even heard His name. Our prayer is that you would join this faithful community at Calvary who are passionate about missions!

WHY WE DO IT

As we read the Bible, there are 1,600 verses that show God’s heart and passion for the world. We see this played out in the greatest act of generosity known to man; God gave us His one and only son, Jesus. This remarkable gift should make us want to do everything we can to share it with the world!

To the tribes and nations who have never heard. To the family in our town that hasn’t had a chance to know Him. Their stories are yet to be finished - but someone must tell them. This is why we DO missions at Calvary Church; so that all may hear.

CELEBRATING 2024

This past year we saw missions giving rise to a new all-time high. Calvary is a generous church that believes that when we give above what God has called us to, He will bless the gift, and the world will be impacted!

In 2024, our goal was to raise $450,000 to invest in projects around the world that would Build Community to Create Connection. We partnered with amazing missionaries who are busy sharing God’s love with people who have not yet had a chance to hear. Thank you for being a part of taking Life Change around the world!

HOW GOD IS WORKING

MONGOLIA

The building is up! And this spring, workers will continue to finish this space so that the NEW community center can begin to host English classes, community events, Bible studies, and small groups. Because of your giving, our friends in Mongolia were able to move from two rented rooms to a facility that is 5,400 square feet!

ALASKA

This summer a team from Calvary traveled to Alaska to help with the major renovation process taking place in Bethel to create a place for the whole region to gather. After seven months of work, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of dollars, the new space is getting ready to serve as a space to train and launch new pastors.

MAUMEE

At Calvary, our goal is to build community here in Maumee so we can create connections with our neighbors and share the hope we have in Christ. Thanks to the hundreds of you who put on a red shirt this August to Love the 419, we were able to make a huge impact in our local schools, parks, businesses, and city.

GAMBIA

As the frame and roof for this NEW community center rose from the ground, villagers gathered around to celebrate this new space built just for them! In a very rural area, this space will stand as a symbol reminding the people of the love God has for them. We are excited for the great work that will happen under this roof leading many people to Jesus.

A huge thank you to our Calvary Kids for raising over $18,000 so the team can build a new well in this community. Fresh water is a special gift that brings life to everyone in the area.

CENTRAL EURASIA

In the middle of 2024, the team in Central Eurasia was able to find a building that is a perfect fit for the community center AND was half the price of all the other properties they looked at. Your giving allowed them to purchase this building and begin the renovation process. The team is excited for the chance to grow their ministry opportunities and reach more people!

CONVOY OF HOPE

As a church, we took the challenge of giving One Day to Feed the World to heart, and collected $103,000 for the work Convoy of Hope does around the world. They know that life change comes when they can meet a person’s physical needs AND share the hope of Christ. Whether feeding children, empowering women, training farmers, responding to disasters, or serving a community in need, the goal is to bring help and hope.

God has called each of us to be actively involved in reaching the unreached. Whether they live here in the 419 or on the other side of the world, you are invited to be a part of the work that is happening on the mission field.

…I TELL YOU, OPEN YOUR EYES AND LOOK AT THE FIELDS! THEY ARE RIPE FOR HARVEST

JOHN 4:35

MISSIONS IS GOING

We live in a big world with millions of people who have not had a chance to know Christ in an authentic, life-changing way. Most of those people are thousands of miles from Ohio and are waiting to hear the Good News of Jesus for the first time. We are thankful for the hundreds of missionaries we get to partner with each year but they are not the only ones who God has called to go into the world.

Matthew 5:14 - You are the light of the world.

This is your year to take the step of making missions a part of your life by physically getting involved. As you plan your 2025, consider how you will engage with missions.

To find out more about our trips this year check out Page 21 or follow the QR code.

MISSIONS IS GIVING

Whether it is fueling planes, translating the Bible, or feeding the poor, our giving allows God’s Word to go forth and change lives. This year, ask God how He would want you to invest financially in missions.

We believe that God instructs us to tithe - giving back to God the first 10% of our income. The tithe is used for the operations and day-to-day ministry of the local church. Giving to missions is above and beyond the tithe. At Calvary, when you give to missions, you are investing in our yearly projects AND the monthly support we send our partner missionaries and ministries around the world.

Remember, every gift matters to God. It’s not the size of the gift, but the obedience to God’s voice that matters. When we trust God with our finances He will show us that he can do exceedingly, and abundantly more than we can ever imagine.

Hebrews 13:16 - And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

MISSIONS IS PRAYING

H

ow you are involved in reaching the lost might look different depending on your seasons of life, but one thing you can always do is pray

Luke 10:2 - And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”

Praying for missions is a powerful way to stand behind those on the front lines and allow God to use you all around the world. Here are 3 easy ways you can pray for missions in 2025!

1

Use the Missions Prayer List on the next page to add missionaries and ministries to your daily prayers.

2

Sign up for our monthly Missions Prayer Email to hear current needs from our missions’ partners.

3

Join our Missions Prayer Team which meets regularly to pray together for our missionaries!

Use the Missions Prayer List on the next page to add missionaries and ministries to your daily prayers.

For decades Calvary has partnered with missionaries all around the world. We commit to pray for our missionaries along with sending financial support each and every month. This is a list of our missionary partners so you can cover them in prayer. Cut out this list and leave it where you will see it so you can “pray around the world” each week.

2025 MISSION PROJECTS AND GIVING GOALS

Using business as a vehicle to share His Word

A s the story of God’s redeeming love travels around the world, missionaries are often working in countries that are not open to the Gospel being shared. These locations are often referred to as “sensitive” or “creative access” countries. Missionaries must find a creative reason to be in the country they are serving and often running a business can provide that open door. Not only does the business permit them to be in the country, but ultimately provides access to people who have not had a chance to hear the Gospel.

can be intentional about integrating their faith into the business and reaching people with the Gospel. This ministry tool can open doors in a community and help plant seeds in many lives.

When a missionary is said to have a “BAM,” it means they are involved in “Business as Mission.”

By using their business skills to operate a for-profit company in a cross-cultural setting, missionaries

This year we feel God calling us as a church to partner with missionaries and BAMs around the world. OUR GOAL IN 2025 IS TO INVEST $450,000 IN MISSIONS. This amount will allow us to support our 2025 projects IN ADDITION to sending monthly support to our 120+ mission partners.

The following pages will introduce you to our 2025 projects and what is happening around the world.

$450,000

SOUTHEAST ASIA PROJECT

Reaching the Buddhist world, one cup of coffee at a time!

GOAL$30,000

Want to see this project in action? Join the Missions Team heading to Southeast Asia this fall. More info on page 21 Give Now

In Southeast Asia, you will find the Indochina Peninsula which holds five nations: Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. It is a place of tropical beauty and rich culture that holds the most concentrated Buddhist population on the planet. Missionaries in this area work to plant, grow, and resource local churches so they can reach their nations. With only 1.9% of the population following Jesus, this never-reached region has a huge spiritual harvest that is waiting for someone to bring them hope.

Our missionary partners recognize the significance of reaching out to those who feel lost or disconnected, fostering a sense of community and belonging. The business they have built is designed to be more than just a coffee shop; it’s a welcoming environment where individuals from all walks of life can come together, share stories, and find a sense of connection with local Christians. They believe in the transformative power of Jesus and aim to create an inclusive space where spiritual growth and personal development can flourish.

For almost 20 years, our partners have created a space for intentional conversations, mentorship, care, and a great cup of coffee. Over the years thousands of people have been positively impacted by encountering the message of Jesus. This year they are in the process of buying land to build a new space which will allow them to expand the work God has given them. What a great way for our church to invest in the work God is doing halfway around the world!

GOAL$30,000

This country has the largest population in the world with over 40 billion people. Eighty percent (80%) of these will live their whole life without meeting a single believer. But sharing the Gospel in this country comes at a price. Local government has put anti-conversion laws in place making it illegal to tell others that Jesus loves them. Doing so can lead to a prison sentence of seven years.

So, missionaries must be creative and find new ways to share about Jesus. Our partners have found a great opportunity to connect with people by opening a CrossFit gym. The gym gives them space to build relationships with people and to meet them where they are. Although they come to the gym to work out, when they enter, they find a community they didn’t know they needed. Through time together, meals, and many conversations, over 50 people have accepted Christ in the last four years.

The funds we are able to give to this project will help our partners multiply their efforts by moving to a new city and launching a new gym. This second location will grow their impact, and increase their reach in a whole new area.

CENTRAL EURASIA PROJECTS

Building relationships that point people to Jesus

Want to see this project in action? Join the Missions Team heading to Central Asia this fall. More info on page 21

Give Now

Over 728 unreached people groups live in Central Eurasia, making it one of the least-reached regions in the world. This area, about the same size as the United States, is made up of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Northern Cyprus, and Uzbekistan.

Most of these countries require our missionary partners to operate a BAM giving them permission to be in the country, but running a business that needs to make money can be challenging when many of these countries have seen over 400% rise in the cost of living. By partnering with these BAMs, we are able to help offset the cost of services allowing more local people to be reached.

ADVENTURE TOURISM PROJECT

GOAL- $15,000

A tourism BAM is aimed to provide local adventure-type tours, which may include cycling, hiking, camping, fishing, skiing, and much more. This year our good friends launched the “young bike riders’ group” designed to engage with the young adult population of their city. By planning tours with local people, our missionaries are able to spend many hours building relationships that open the door for them to have deep conversations about life and the God who created us.

The funds we are able to give to this project will help to purchase three new e-bikes for the BAM giving them the ability to go further and invite more people to join them.

ENGLISH SCHOOL PROJECT

GOAL- $25,000

The world is full of many languages making communication sometimes challenging when crossing borders. English has become a common language that has made its way around the globe uniting people when they travel, relocate, work, and even scroll social media. Many people throughout the world desire to strengthen their English abilities so they can connect with others. This has created a BAM opportunity for missionaries to open schools that focus on teaching English and helping build strong conversation skills. Although teaching English may look like the school’s main objective, the real work comes when Christian teachers are able to build relationships with their students and have an opportunity to share the Gospel.

This year we are partnering with an English School in Central Eurasia to provide scholarships for students. This investment will allow many more students to walk through the school’s doors and ultimately see more lives impacted. In addition to scholarships, our project funds will allow this mission team to grow a new part of their BAM which is using social media to plant spiritual seeds around the whole country. In recent months, their posts have reached over 100,000 people creating 2,000 conversations about Jesus. Pray these seeds continue to grow and that many more will come to know Jesus.

WEST VIRGINIA PROJECT

Bringing hope to a forgotten place

GOAL$15,000

When we talk about missions, images of Africa and Asia can quickly fill our minds. However, there are places very nearby that not only need missionaries but use businesses to help fund the work God has called them to. This year we are partnering with several ministries that work together in McDowell County, West Virginia. This county is full of small coal mining communities with a population of 19,000 people. In a place where poverty runs deep, high schoolers work second shifts in coal mines, and families are falling apart, our investment will allow this team to bring new life to a place that is often forgotten.

One of the opportunities we have is to partner with The Riverfront Roast, a missions coffee shop, located in the heart of Welch, WV. This space will not only provide income to fuel ministry but will also serve as a safe place for local teens and a training ground for helping young adults learn the value of hard work and be able to support themselves. By using the physical space God has gifted them, this team of missionaries is ready to increase their impact and generate income that will allow them to do more.

HOW THEN CAN THEY CALL ON THE ONE THEY HAVE NOT BELIEVED IN? AND HOW CAN THEY BELIEVE IN THE ONE OF WHOM THEY HAVE NOT HEARD? AND HOW CAN THEY HEAR WITHOUT SOMEONE PREACHING TO THEM? AND HOW CAN ANYONE PREACH UNLESS THEY ARE SENT? AS IT IS WRITTEN: “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS!”

ROM A NS 10:14-15

FAQ

CAN I SET UP A RECURRING DONATION?

CAN I DESIGNATE FUNDS FOR A SPECIFIC PROJECT?

ARE MY DONATIONS TAX DEDUCTIBLE?

WHAT DOES OUR GOAL OF $450,00 INCLUDE?

WHAT IF WE GIVE MORE THAN OUR GOAL?

WHAT IF WE DON’T REACH OUR GOAL?

Yes! When you give through the Calvary website or the app, you can set up recurring donations to missions (weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, etc).

If you would like to give a significant donation towards a specific project you can contact us in the office to make arrangements - missions@toledocalvary.org.

Yes, all donations made to Calvary Church are tax deductible. At the end of each year, we will mail you a giving statement for all donations made.

What does our goal of $450,00 include? Our annual mission goal allows us to support our partners monthly, send funds to each of the special projects, and cover other missions’ expenses like hosting mission week, urgent projects, and mission trip project funds.

After we take time to celebrate (woohoo!!) we evaluate other requests from missionaries to see where we can be a blessing. We believe in making commitments and then trusting God to do BIG things!

Calvary’s people always amaze us with their heart of generosity, but if our funds are short of the full goal, we would first send our committed monthly support to each partner. Next, we would decrease each special project.

If you have additional questions, feel free to send us an email (missions@toledocalvary.org) or call the church office (419-893-2171).

SERVE WEEK - JULY 28TH - 31ST, 2025

At Calvary, we aim to love our community with no strings attached as an example of how Christ loves us (1 John 4:19). Join us this summer for Serve Week as we love our neighbors, schools, and community heroes!
