It’s any candidate’s right to be able to access potential constituents for the purpose of canvassing. This includes knocking on doors, talking to tenants, and leaving flyers behind with those tenants.

Examples include in your window or on your wall. You can also put up signs on your fence if you have a yard. Do put up election signs inside your home

What you cannot do

Don’t put up election signs on your balcony or in common areas of your building

This is both dangerous and against the law.

Don’t share any personal information you’re not comfortable sharing

This includes with candidates who come to your door, or with anyone else. TCHC will not share tenant lists with candidates or political parties. We respect tenant privacy.
