Salary: £41,591.00 - £44,624.00

As Head of Service for MASH, Assessment and Targeted Family Support you will play a major part in our organisation and lead the services that support our children and young people in York. We have great ambitions and are looking for leaders who can drive improvement and improve outcomes.

We are looking for an exceptional person to lead our Democratic Services Team, with responsibility for servicing of all Council Committees and running elections. The team is at the heart of democratic decision making in our Council and works closely with the Management Team and the Head of Law and Governance. You will also act as Deputy Monitoring Officer and Deputy Returning Officer/ Deputy Electoral Registration Officer. You will have experience of running a successful election and ensuring that Council committees run smoothly during the democratic year. Political awareness will come naturally to you, and you will be skilled at building strong working relationships with both officers across the Council and elected members. You will be comfortable making decisions and giving advice under pressure, whilst maintaining diplomacy and tact at all times.
