Stock the Shoppe.
Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City was proud to join with the Eric Berry Foundation and Children’s Mercy Kansas City to “Stock the Shoppe” and bring a little holiday cheer to children spending the season in the hospital. Having a child in the hospital is hard on both the family and the child and leaves families little time for holiday planning. But, finding joyful moments is important, so volunteers, donors and Children’s Mercy staff create the annual Snowflake Shoppe. This holiday pop-up toy store makes it possible for parents or guardians to “shop” for gifts without leaving the hospital.

Housed in the hospital’s Community Room, the Shoppe gives families a moment of respite from the rigors and stress of having an ill child in the hospital and helps bring holiday cheer to their family. Toys and other items are donated in droves during the holidays thanks to generous supporters. Gifts range from stacking rings and board books for the hospital’s youngest patients to board games and adult coloring books for the eldest. Response to the Snowflake Shoppe is enthusiastic and many families claim they wouldn’t have had a holiday without it. This program is fully funded through donations given by the surrounding community..
