Love Thy Neighbor Project
Starting in 2013, Love Thy Neighbor Project at Tennessee Wesleyan University is fighting food insecurity in McMinn County. Feeding America statistics tell us that as much as 19% of McMinn County children suffer from food insecurity. LTNP offers an on-campus food bank, as well as mobile food bank events, providing food for community members in need.
Love Thy Neighbor Project exists as both a service and a service opportunity for the TWU community, as well. Students, faculty, and staff are able to come and get food from Love Thy Neighbor Project, and also join in the fun, volunteering both in the food bank and at the mobile food bank events.

Food is donated to LTNP by local community partners, such as Food City of Athens and Etowah and the Chattanooga Food Bank. Funding comes both from grants and individual donations. To keep up with all the Love Thy Neighbor Project is doing, follow them on Facebook @LTNPTWU. To donate toward bringing food security to McMinn County, contact the TWU Advancement Office at advancement@tnwesleyan.edu or 423-746-5330.
