In 2006, at just 22 years old, Matt Garrett took a leap and started his own business. Three years later, after seeing countless professionals rely on John Deere, he decided to give it a try—and he’s never looked back.

For over a decade, our Jackson location has been his go-to for equipment, parts, and service. His fleet now includes a 325G skid steer, a 35P mini excavator, a 3038E compact tractor, two Z950M ZTrak™ mowers, and a full lineup of Stihl blowers and trimmers. But if you ask him, his favorite? The mini excavator—he only wishes he had bought it sooner.

For the past 14 years, Colton Crutchfield, has been a part of the Tennessee Tractor team, starting his journey at just 22 years old. What’s kept him here? The people.

“ My customers and coworkers are like a second family,” he says. “They’ve played a major part in my success at Tennessee Tractor.”

Of course, getting to operate all kinds of John Deere equipment doesn’t hurt either. When he’s off the clock, you’ll find him cruising the countryside in his 835M Gator, making memories with his family. And if he could add one more machine to his collection? A 335P track loader—fully loaded with attachments.

Whether he’s at work or at home, Colton brings the same passion to everything he does. From cheering on UT sports to firing up the grill for friends and family, he knows that life is all about good people and great experiences—just like his time at Tennessee Tractor.
