Creation Genesis 1:1–25

G

od made everything. When God said, “Let there be light,” there was light! He called the light day and the dark night.

That is what God did on the first day. On the second day, God made the sky. On day three, He separated the land from the oceans. Then He made the trees and flowers.

On the fourth day, God made the sun, moon, and stars. On day five, God filled the oceans and lakes with fish. He made all the different types of birds too. On the sixth day, God made all the animals.

God made everything good. But He wasn’t finished yet!

God is good.

God made everything good.

I know God is good because of what He made.

Adam and Eve Genesis 1:26–2:25

O

n the sixth day of creation, God made the first man. His name was Adam. God also planted a beautiful garden called Eden. The garden was full of trees and plants that made good food for Adam to eat. It was a perfect home with everything he needed.

Then God gave Adam work to do. He was to take care of the garden God had made. Then God said, “It is not good for Adam to be alone. I will make him a helper.” So God made a woman. Her name was Eve. Together, Adam and Eve lived in the garden and worshipped God.

God created everything.

Leaving Eden Genesis 3:8–24

dam and Eve heard the voice of God calling, “Adam, where are you?”

Adam answered, “We’re hiding because we’re afraid.”

Then God asked, “Adam, did you eat the fruit I told you not to eat?”

Adam answered, “Eve gave me the fruit.”

Then God said, “Eve, what have you done?”

She said, “The snake tricked me.”

Adam and Eve were ashamed of what they had done. They had disobeyed God. Then God said to the evil one, “You have done a bad thing.” God told Adam and Eve, “Now you will have to leave Eden and work very hard.” It was a very sad day.

Disobeying God causes trouble.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God and had to leave the garden.

I will obey God and receive His blessings!

Noah Builds the Ark Genesis 6

oah was a good man living in a bad time. All the other people had become mean and unkind. They didn’t love God at all. All they thought about was doing mean things.

That made God very sad.

But Noah and his family loved God. This made God happy.

God told Noah to build a big boat called an ark. He said there would be a flood and all the earth would be covered with water. Noah and his family would be safe on the ark. God would send animals to Noah so they could be safe too.

Loving God makes Him happy.

Noah loved God.

I will love God.
