Joyce Buchanan followed with encouraging news of four individuals selected by the Patriot Scholarship Committee to receive $500.00 scholarships. The Fannin County Republican Party and the Fannin County Republican Women are providing those scholarships. District Judge Blake introduced Representative Reggie Smith to update all on recent action coming out of the 87th legislative session with a focus on redistricting. She noted that other speakers would be coming in the months ahead that will include Senator Campbell and Senator Hall. Senator Hall has been asked to focus on the power grid and expound on what happened there. Representative Smith started by commenting on what a great privilege it was to represent the voters at the 87th Legislative Session and explained how he is serving on three committees which are: The General Investigating Committee, The Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee and the Public Health Committee.
