The Soledad Community Center is the heart of our city. Built in 1993, this 23,000-square-foot facility has served as a gathering place where neighbors become friends, children thrive, and our community strengthens through diverse programs and services. From youth sports to senior wellness activities, the Community Center, managed by the Soledad Parks and Recreation Department, provides a space for everyone.

As we look to the future, we are dedicated to keeping the Soledad Community Center a safe and welcoming space for all ages. As our community grows, the Community Center must continue to offer affordable programs and services to residents of all abilities. Through our Capital Campaign, we aim to enhance the facility and preserve it as a vibrant hub for connection, learning, and growth for generations to come.

Our goal is to raise $1.8 million to fund meaningful transformations that will enhance the center’s accessibility, comfort, and functionality. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier Soledad—one where all visits, regardless of age or ability, have the opportunity to thrive.

DID YOU KNOW?

The facility provides fitness opportunities for over 28,000 visits annually and offers youth and adult recreation programs for more than 3,200 participants each year.

In 2024, the Soledad Community Center made a meaningful impact on our community, serving individuals of all ages in a variety of ways:

Over 800 youth were served through our sports programs, providing them opportunities to stay active, develop teamwork skills, and grow through physical activity.

100+ hours of community service were completed by participants, contributing to the betterment of our local environment and strengthening community bonds.

1,500 individuals participated in arts and culture programs, engaging in creative activities that enriched their lives and brought people together.

Our fitness and gym rooms were used over 28,000 times, offering a space for health and wellness to thrive within our community.

The fields and facility were utilized over 1,500 times for reservations, city events, and outreach programs, further solidifying the center’s role as a community gathering space.

These statistics highlight the role the Soledad Community Center plays in connecting, supporting, and enriching our community. With your continued support, we can expand these programs and opportunities for even more individuals in the years ahead.

Through the dedication of our passionate staff, the Center has become a place where young individuals gain professional hands-on experience while giving back to the community.

ELIZABETH M. Future Educator

“My career aspirations [and goals] have been greatly influenced by [the Center]. Working with [the] community has given me invaluable knowledge… This experience has reinforced my determination to become an elementary school teacher… I appreciate [giving] back to my community while preparing for a career in teaching.”

As Elizabeth prepares for a career in education, her experience working with the youth and families of the community has taught her the importance of creativity, communication, and organizational skills—qualities that will serve her well in the classroom. Elizabeth is a shining example of the growth and impact the Center fosters in its staff, preparing them for meaningful roles in the broader community.

SHELBY S. A Journey of Growth and Confidence

“The Soledad Community Center holds a special place in my heart. It was my first job, and through it, I learned valuable skills like leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution. I came to the Center lacking selfconfidence, but the support I received helped me discover the confidence within myself to make a positive impact on the world. Without the Soledad Community Center, I wouldn’t be the person I am today, and I’m forever grateful for that.”

Shelby’s experience was a transformative one. The skills she developed empowered her to become a confident individual capable of making a meaningful difference. The Soledad Community Center was not just a first job for Shelby; it was the place that shaped her into the confident, positive force she is today.
