For vacation or staycation, Kymulga Grist Mill Park is an excellent choice! do for most any size, age, or type of interest & it draws visitors from all over the world! History is a big draw. After all, both the Mill & the Ky mulga Bridge are on the National Registry of His toric Places, as the only pair of such structures still standing together in their original location! This was an historically important stop along the Georgia If you’re a “local,” you might have been there when you were a kid, or maybe you’ve taken in the annual Kymulga Grits Fes tival, but neither is quite good enough to appreci ate the full picture of the Kymulga Grist Mill Park. It has something to see &
Road, a Native American trade route used by settlers in the South. And, amaz ingly, it was built during the height of the Civil War! The sheer beauty of the Grist Mill Park is ab solutely breathtaking with a wide range of avail able nature scenes, decid edly different, depending on what season you visit! And then, there’s recre ation! There’s excellent fishing, canoeing, and swimming. There are dozens of shaded trails for hiking and biking along and around the creek and canal. Camping, both primitive & RVstyle are available at the park. Kymulga Grist Mill Park has become a favorite gathering place for ro mantic weddings & recep
tions in a natural setting, reunions for family & friends to gather for pic nics and play in the park, and plenty of other spe cial occasions, like par ties, meetings, music festivals, revivals & more. There's a large pavilion,
kitchen, and outdoor grill available. And you can visit the Country Store for corn meal, grits, syrup, honey, tshirts, souvenirs, snacks, and more! And the Grist Mill itself has been reclaimed and is
now open for tours of the facility. Such is both inter esting & educational enough that the park often plays host to all manner of educational outings for kids & adults. Whether it’s a quick visit,

Now We’re Cookin’
Lemon Squares FOR THE CRUST 4 tablespoons butter, melted and cooled, plus more for pan 1-1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs 1/4 cup sugar FOR THE FILLING 2 large egg yolks 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (3 lemons) DIRECTIONS: *Preheat oven to 350F / 180C degrees. *Brush a square baking dish with melted butter. *Crush graham crackers *Then add in sugar and butter and blend to mix. *Press mixture into bottom of prepared pan. *Bake until lightly browned, 8 to 12 minutes. *Cool crust, 30 minutes. TO MAKE THE FILLING *In a large bowl, whisk together egg yolks and condensed milk. *Add lemon juice; whisk until smooth. *Pour filling into cooled crust; carefully spread to edges. *Bake until set, about 15 minutes. *Cool in pan on rack. *Chill at least 1 hour before serving.
