Application Step 1. In order, unhook the forefoot strap, the mid-foot strap and the mid-shin strap. Velcro each strap onto itself and swivel each of them out of position. Step 2. Remove the front interior shield and open the softgood. Ensure it’s fitted all the way to the rear of the boot. Step 3. Have the patient step in and show that their heel is to the back of the softgood and boot. Step 4. Replace the softgood fit comfortably & replace the interior shield. Step 5. Refit each of the straps starting with the forefoot, then the mid-foot, then the mid-shin and finally the top shin strap. Step 6. Now, press the low-force bulb until the desired compression is achieved. If you over compressed, deflate and repeat. Adjustment: Calf-adjustment is available should you need for any additional girth. Once all straps have been applied, adjust the tension as necessary for a secure fit.
Wearing Instructions Ensure the foot and ankle area are clean and dry before putting on the boot. Pull on the AFO Undersleeve sock provided with the boot and secure the boot as described in the application instructions. Wear the boot as directed by your healthcare provider, typically for most of the day or as needed for support during recovery. X-ORTHO products are exclusive to TLC DME.
