The whole building takes the imaging principle of the kaleidoscope as the design concept, and shapes the building shape through lofting and rotation. The middle triangle atrium is provided for the single apartment and the nearby residents’ leisure and entertainment places for people to communicate.

The project is located in Gulou District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, China, North of GouEr lane and South of Hehui street. It is surrounded by a series of public buildings such as university campus, office building, commercial complex, etc. young people lack of open community activity center in contact with nature as a place for daily leisure and recreation. Therefore, community activity center and studio apartments are selected as the main building functions, to meet the social needs around the site.

The building facade and interior space are highly integrated to create a rich interior space.In addition, the internal function layout of the building is reasonable, with a series of supporting facilities such as activity room, gym, cinema, etc. so as to meet the daily life needs of the apartment and surrounding residents.

Due to the lack of green plants around the site, the new building aims to provide people with a green, healthy and ecological platform, where you can enjoy the wonderful feeling of harmonious coexistence with nature. The ginkgo planted in the atrium of the building is the center of the whole building, providing a place for people living in the atrium to shade the sun

Eye of The City

For the understanding of context and tradition, there is a big difference between the east and the west. If the disappearance is the wisdom of the East, then the unity of opposites is the wisdom of the West. The design is determined by the “eye of the city� as the motif, which symbolizes the historical changes of the city wall as the witness of the same pair of eyes in Nanjing.

The building unit mainly adopts the linear space layout to respond to the irregular venue so that the viewer can feel the history during the roaming process and at the same time gain the freedom of viewing experience.

The entrance adopts the sinking design, which introduces visitors into the museum, and then through the streamline design in the museum, so as to achieve the effect of pre emption.

The appearance of the building seems simple, but the connotation is very rich.

Two different courtyards exist in the same building, giving people a very wonderful feeling.

The architectural design reflects the characteristics of the rain and smoke in the south of the Yangtze River, which is gentle and full of verve. The curved roof gives the building a sense of flexibility, so that the building is well integrated into the local environment.Wooden building structure directly exposed to the outside, more people-friendly, to live in which the elderly a sense of belonging to the home.

BLOOMING ART FLOWER The biggest difference between the design and the past is the particularity of the site environment. How to raise the lake surface to a more important position has become the main line of my thinking this time. Therefore, the architectural function layout adopts the form of semi-enclosure, which opens the south-facing side and introduces the lake scenery and light into the public corridor on the South side, people and people. Whether you come to the opera or not, you can communicate here. In addition, the fresh and elegant features of Magnolia also symbolize the architectural characteristics of the cultural museum as a medium to improve the cultural quality of citizens.

Through the analysis of the current situation of the base, three urgent problems are found, namely, the open square, the straight coastline and the disordered parking, which are all problems to be solved in the process of architectural design. So the design started from these three points and came up with three solutions that are different from the traditional design ideas. In short, on the premise of reasonable planning, the building volume adopts radial layout, which not only effectively solves the three problems mentioned above, but also forms a rich spatial effect.

The high unity of building structure and function is the focus of the design of the cultural center. Five functional blocks rotate around the center point to form a circular public corridor, which also becomes the highlight of the building.

People from the community gather together and interact with each other, so the building space becomes lively and interesting.

The project is located inside the tourist area of Leigong Island and is an important publicity window. Inspired by the bamboo stone map of Zheng Banqiao art work, the design uses the local bamboo material of Leigong Island as the main architecture material, which can not only deliver a sense of firendly atmosphere as the same time to archive a cost efficiency.
