Independence Day Closure
All DMPLlocations will be closed on Friday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday. Normal hours will resume on Saturday, July 5.

Summer at the library
The Des Moines Public Library's Summer Reading Challenge is in full swing!
Kids work their way through our challenge program by reading for 20 minutes or completing various learning activities. Once the challenge is complete, turn in your worksheet and you'll get a small prize and be eligible for the big prizes in our end-of-summer drawing.
The challenge goes throughAugust 2, so there is still time to register and get started!

CookingAround the World with CultureAll
Tuesday, July 15 | 6-7 PM
Learn how to make Gol Guppa with Mona from CultureAll! These whole wheat round puffy vegetarian snacks from India are filled with potatoes, onions, cilantro, and a spice mixture, and served with tamarind sauce.

At the beginning of June, North Side Library assistant LindenThompson published their third novel, Devils LikeUs. It is a historical fantasy about three queer and trans teens facing down a secret magical society that is perfect for fans ofOurFlag MeansDeathand TheGentleman's GuidetoViceandVirtue
It is available to check out from DMPL. If you see them behind the desk at the North Side Library, make sure to tell them congratulations!

Instrument Petting Zoo

Mario Kart Tournament

Compete to become the ultimate Mario Kart champion! Tweens and teens will eat pizza while racing for prizes in this doubleelimination tournament. Register to attend.
