Fall Series Author 2026

The 2026 Fall Author series returns in September, with three exciting events dotting the calendar this year.

Eloisa James

Tuesday, September 15, 7 PM | Central Library (Doors open at 6 PM)

On Tuesday, September 15, beloved romance writer Eloisa James will be in Des Moines. James, a historical romance writer, released The Last Lady B this spring, a gothic romp in which a young bride hauls her pet piglet and septuagenarian husband to a haunted Scottish abbey — only to find the ghosts are the least of the secrets waiting for her.

On Friday, October 2, William Kent Krueger comes to Des Moines. The award-winning mystery writer will be releasing God’s Country on August 18, the 22nd installment in his Cork O’Connor series, set in Northern Minnesota. In this new tale, ominous visions shadow Cork O’Connor as a search for a missing friend drags him into a deadly hunt with the ruthless Kennedy brothers, forcing him to confront his darkest instincts and take justice into his own hands.

Craig Johnson

Thursday, October 29, 7 PM | Central Library (Doors open at 6 PM)

Lastly, on Thursday, October 29, we’ll be joined by Craig Johnson, author of the popular Longmire series. The Brothers McKay, the 22nd book in that series, was released in May.
