WELL DONE NICK FOR WINNING THE MOBILITY CARD COMPETITION

Congratulations to Waverley driver Nick Xiros for winning the Customer Mobility Card Accessible Transport Competition.

Nick received two testimonials from customers about his support of those with mobility issues.

One of the customers wrote to us to acknowledge the “abundant courtesy and kindness” shown by Bus Operator Nick. “I was travelling on Bus 333 from Bondi yesterday afternoon around 2pm,” the customer recalled.

The bus was crowded and a gentleman in a mobility vehicle boarded. The driver cleared space, reassured the passenger and personally positioned the heavy vehicle. He was cheerful and considerate. When the man alighted, the driver went to considerable effort to ensure his safely, including showing kindness to the passenger. It was gratifying to see. I hope he can receive these thanks on behalf of all passengers.

Nick also received a second testimonial from another passenger who stated that he was “an excellent driver, who gave very good service”. “My mum is in a wheelchair and he was very patient and helpful,” the customer added.

Waverley Depot Service Delivery Manager, Rick Sciarrone, presented Nick with his prize of a $100 voucher.

“Nick has always displayed a friendly demeanour to all our customers and has always gone above and beyond to help those in need.”
