As we gather in this place, we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this Land, pay respects to Elders both past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to Aboriginal Elders of other communities who may present.
On behalf of Tintern Grammar and the Friends of Equestrian Committee it is my great pleasure to again welcome all competitors, families, and friends to the Rowville Horse Trailers Tintern Grammar Victorian Interschools Horse Trials Championships for 2024.
We are excited for our third year at Shirley Heights Equestrian Centre in 2024, and I thank the Friends of Equestrian for their careful shepherding across of the event. This is the 24th Tintern Horse Trials and I am again excited by the large and diverse contingent of riders participating. There is enormous support and assistance provided by families to their children if they are to compete at events like this and I offer my thanks to those families, as it is the participation of the students which make the Trials the fabulous weekend that they are!
Young women and men gain so much from this exciting and challenging sport, developing their abilities, attributes and character in the face of both the enjoyment and the difficulty of each of the events.
It takes many hours of planning and hard work to stage this terrific gathering, most of which is undertaken by volunteers. I would particularly like to thank the following people:
• Everyone at Shirley Heights Equestrian Centre, for their assistance in running the day and their wonderful facility that makes the event possible!
• The Tintern Grammar Friends of Equestrian support group for their extensive planning and organisation, their committed and diligent work in making the event enjoyable, challenging and as safe as possible and their perpetually positive and good-humoured approach to everything over the course of what is an enormous weekend of work for them!
• All the many, many volunteers who have donated their time so generously and without which, the Trials simply would not take place.
• The Tintern Grammar staff who contribute and support the running of this event.
I look forward to watching the competitors from all schools and offer my very best wishes to all for a wonderful weekend of enjoyment, excitement and close competition!

A XC Course Walk will be given for each class, which will take around 45minutes to an hour each. The XC Course walks will meet at the start box of the XC Course. Organised by the Tintern committee and kindly funded by ISV.

The Friends of Equestrian is a community group made up of parents and interested professionals from within the school who seeks to:
• Promote an appreciation of Equestrian as a sport within the school community.
• Encourage students to participate and pursue their equestrian interests throughout their school life.
• Organise and conduct the Annual Tintern Interschool Horse Trials.
• Act as a support group for the Equestrian Coordinator and Tintern’s Equestrian Team of students, providing physical and financial assistance with events whilst fulfilling the equestrian requirements of the school.
The Friends of Equestrian work together in various ways to support the students in their equestrian interests and pursuits.
• Organise and manage the Annual Tintern Interschool Horse Trials (PCAV and EA).
• Promoting, sponsoring and organising events in which equestrian students can participate.
• Training Days to prepare students for Interschool Competition.

• Saturday Lunch: Haileybury Hot potatoes and Upper Yarra Pony Club will provide sandwiches, wraps, salad and soup packs. Roadshow Coffee will have a selection of pastries and bakery items.
• Saturday night Dinner: A delicious dinner of roast meat, salad, dessert, and drink will be provided by Upper Yarra Pony Club for $25/ head. Please order with entries on Event Sec.
• Sunday Breakfast: Shirley Heights Equestrian Centre will provide egg and bacon rolls 7 -11am.
