SUMMER ENROLLMENT ON-BASE NOW OPEN

Enrollment is now underway for summer classes on Tinker AFB. The following six institutions offer noontime, evening, and weekend courses on Tinker: Rose Sate College (739-5774), Park University (739-7275), Oklahoma City University (739-2306), The University of Oklahoma (739-7365), Webster University (739-3518), Oklahoma City Aviation Alliance (739-2574). Don’t hesitate to contact the on-base colleges and universities. They can assist with program information, the application process, enrolling, obtaining a degree plan, financial aid, etc. Tuition assistance is available for active duty military and civilians to help defray the cost of tuition. Contact the Education Services Center at 739-7408 for more information.

FREE ONLINE CULTURE COURSE FOR ACTIVE DUTY PERSONNEL

The Air Force Culture and Language Center offers a free online distance learning course, “Introduction to Cross Culture Communication (CCC)”, for active duty AF personnel. The course earns three semester hours of program elective credit and fulfills residency credit towards the CCAF degree. The registration/enrollment window opens 6 APR 21 and closes on 12 APR 21, or when full. The 14 week course starts on 29 APR 21 and ends on 4 AUG 21. COMMISSIONING BRIEFING OFFERED MONTHLY

The Education Services Center is hosting a monthly Commissioning Briefing. The briefing will be held on the first Thursday of each month @ 9:00 a.m. and is designed to guide Service members through the variety of commissioning programs, provide an understanding of the “whole person” concept, provide basic eligibility requirements, and offer selectability advice. Enlisted personnel that are interested in commissioning are encouraged to attend. Contact the Education Services Center at (405) 739-7408 to RSVP as the briefing is limited to 10 participants.

EARN COLLEGE CREDIT THROUGH TESTING

CLEP and DSST testing is available to active duty military members free of charge at the National Testing Center (NTC) located on the Rose State College campus. Dependents can use the NTC for a fee. The computerbased testing allows an examinee to receive results at the end of the exam (except for the Speech and English w/ essays exam). Exams are completely free for active duty with military ID card and one other form of identification. Service members must pay out-pocket for retakes. To test, call (405) 733-7320 to schedule an appointment. Contact the Education Services Center for a complete list of available exams and guidance on how to register prior to contacting the NTC. An education counselor will be glad to assist with selecting exams that will apply to the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) degree. Study guides and practice exams can be checked out from the Base Library, Bldg. 5702, or accessed through the Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC). NOTICE OF CLEP/DSST TESTING TIMES FOR SPRING – NATIONAL TEST CENTER

The Rose State College (campus) hours of operation for Spring (March thru May) are 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday thru Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rose will be closed for Spring Break March 15th to 19th which means no CLEP or DSST testing at the National Testing Center (NTC). In addition, the NTC will administer exams at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday thru Thursday, and some Fridays at 9:00 a.m. (not every Friday).

THE UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA

Enrollment for the University of Oklahoma’s summer semester continues, and you don’t want to miss it. Precourse work begins on 24 JUN 21 for HR 5093-106: Introduction to graduate studies in Human Relations. This course is designed to familiarize students with the standards and expectations of multidisciplinary graduate coursework. OKLAHOMA CITY UNIVERSITY

Spring brings new beginnings in nature, but also in our personal lives and careers. If over this past historic year you have revisited a goal to complete a master’s degree, now is the time to gather information: required courses, class format options, how long would it take to complete, cost, and requirements to apply. A Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a general graduate degree just requiring a bachelor’s degree in any area. Now that 2021 is in full swing, no time is better to start your master’s degree in Aerospace Administration and Logistics, fast-track it in one year! For your bachelor’s degree completion, Southeastern Oklahoma State University (SE), as part of the Oklahoma City Aviation Education Alliance, also offers a BS in Aviation Management with options in Safety, Business, Production and Operations, Maintenance or Security. Tinker Golf Club

18 holes of gently rolling golf is enjoyable for riding and walking alike. The layout presents itself with all trouble easily visible to the golfer except for the pond and nearly island green on number 15, that can’t be seen from the tee. It is a fun course to play for all ages. From juniors to seniors and everybody between. The friendliness and camaraderie is unmatched. Don’t have a group? We also have a driving range and practice area to help hone your skills, including group and individual lessons for all ages.

Monthly Fun Tournaments– Have you ever putted in a sand trap or played 18 par 3’s in one round? How about holes ranging up to 1000 yards long? At Tinker you can do this and more by participating in our “fun” monthly events.

Family Tees– A shorter course for young and beginning golfers. These forward tees marked on the cart paths on the front nine provide young and beginning golfers the same chance at par as more experienced players from regular tees.

Soccer Golf– Still available on our front nine if you aren’t really into regular golf but like soccer. Friends can play mixed matches of golf and soccer golf.

Current dress code– No vulgar shirts. Uniforms can be worn on the range and putting green but not on the course. Only golf or tennis shoes may be worn. No boots, cleats other than golf. No cutoff shorts. April Fools’ Day
