2025 marks a monumental milestone for Tingdene Marinas Ltd. as we celebrate our 20th anniversary in marina management.
Over the past two decades, we have worked incredibly hard to grow Tingdene Marina's reach and influence across the UK marine industry, continually striving towards building a reputation for premium quality, exceptional customer service, and a dedication to maintaining beautiful and functional marinas for all types of boater.
From acquiring our first marina, Thames & Kennet in 2004 and forming Tingdene Marinas Limited a year later, to taking ownership of Waveney River Centre
in 2021, we look back on two decades of exceptional development and many achievements with pride and gratitude. Our expert teams and dedicated customers have built the strong sense of community and passion for inland exploration that remains the beating heart of Tingdene Marinas today.
We are pleased to say, the future is set to be just as exciting. With an unwavering commitment to enhancing our marinas and offering a premium service to our customers at every marina, we are poised for continued development for many more years to come.
Here’s to another 20 years of growth, success, and unparalleled service in the world of inland marinas.
Upton Marina celebrates the huge milestone of its 50th anniversary this year.
Since opening in 1975, the marina has grown from a small riverside facility to one of the UK’s most beloved marinas, becoming a key hub for boating enthusiasts and a fixture in the local community.
From its inception, Upton Marina, founded by local entrepreneur Keith J. Webb, offered boaters a peaceful mooring spot along the River Severn. The 1980s saw its expansion to include boat sales, hire services, and moorings, solidifying its role in the local boating scene, and by the 1990s, the marina had become a popular destination for boaters exploring the River Severn.
In the 2000s, Upton Marina became part of the Tingdene family and became more involved in the communities' local events and festivals. The 2010s brought significant renovations, including enhanced facilities for berth holders and visitors, and the development of Upton Lake's floating homes (Waterfront Living), an industryleading waterside-living concept.
As we celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025, Upton Marina remains a vital part of the community, offering a welcoming environment for boaters, tourists and locals. Tingdene looks forward to continuing its legacy of excellence for future generations of boaters on the River Severn and beyond.

Tingdene's Upton and Brundall Bay Marinas are proud members of the TransEurope Marinas group, which offers our berth-holders a 50% saving on visitor mooring rates for up to five consecutive days at over 70 marinas across the UK and Europe. If you are going coastal cruising this year please call into the marina office to obtain your membership card.
Gold Anchors are awarded by The Yacht Harbour Association to encourage high standards in the facilities, operation and customer service across all UK marinas. The scheme helps boat owners when deciding on where to moor their boat and ranges from one to five Gold Anchors. Any award is a sure sign of a quality marina with the number of Gold Anchors increasing with the facilities and star rating system. The process includes a ‘mystery shopping’ element as well as a berth holder questionnaire and is endorsed by the RYA (The Royal Yachting Association).
Tingdene Marinas are proud to be part of the Gold Anchors Scheme at five marinas:
Racecourse Marina Windsor
Thames & Kennet Marina
Brundall Bay Marina
Upton Marina
Stourport Marina
Once again, we are attending some of the boating industry’s most prestigious events of the season. Take a look at the summer 2025 event schedule below for dates for your diary this year. We look forward to seeing you there!
