Chapter III The Sledding Hill
The families had brought ice sleds and flat sleds. An ice sled is a great kind of sled to have where they live. It can haul a big load of anything over ice and snow. The flat sleds don’t hold as much. They are great for hauling little kids though. As all the children can tell you, there are two parts to going sledding: climbing up the hill, and riding down the hill. The best part is riding down the hill.
Isaac and André squashed onto one of the flat sleds, and three more of the children packed in the ice sled. The two sleds started out from the top of the hill together, but the ice sled immediately ran into a snow bank, tipped over, and dumped the children out. Isaac and André went whizzing past them, waving and laughing. 30
