Theft: The offense of taking or misappropriating any property of another with the intention of depriving that person of the property, regardless of the manner in which the property is taken or appropriated.
Terroristic Threats and Acts: A student commits the offense of a terroristic threat when he threatens: • To commit any crime of violence • To burn or damage property for the purpose of terrorizing another • By causing the evacuation of a school building, place of assembly for school-related events or school bus transportation, or inconvenience • Causing serious school inconvenience in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror • A student shall not knowingly furnish or disseminate through a computer or computer network any picture, photograph, or drawing or similar visual representation or verbal description of any information designed to encourage, solicit, or otherwise promote terroristic acts as herein defined.
Weapons: For the purpose of this policy the term weapon includes any object which is or may be used to inflict bodily injury or to place another in fear for personal safety or well-being (Refer to section about weapons in this handbook or Board Policy JCDAE for more information)
Local Board Policies
1. Local boards of education shall provide for disciplinary actions against students who violate student codes of conduct; 2. Local board policies relating to student codes of conduct shall provide that each local superintendent shall fully support the authority of principals and teachers in the school system to remove a student from the classroom pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 20-2-738, including establishing and disseminating procedures. 3. It is the preferred policy of the board that disruptive students are placed in alternative education settings in lieu of being suspended or expelled. 4. Local board policies shall require the filing of a report by a teacher documenting a student’s violation of the student code of conduct which repeatedly or substantially interferes with the teacher’s ability to communicate effectively with the students in his or her class or with the
