Ensuring Your Business Thrives
Why do some businesses thrive while others falter? There are many reasons, not the least of which involves paying attention to all the inputs into and the outputs from your business. Setting goals is important, but also qualifying which priorities to focus on can be equally important.
I work with my clients to help them focus on two categories of activities in their business plan:

1. Revenue-producing activities
2. Foundational activities
Revenue-producing activities are those that result in bringing in revenue to your business - sometimes immediate and sometimes with a longer lead time – but revenue that helps cover your expenses and fuels your growth.
Foundational activities are those that you must undertake in a systematic way to produce revenue, create efficiencies, keep up with or pass your competition, or differentiate yourself in the marketplace. They aren’t always apparent to you, but if you construct your business plan properly, they can be identified and can be scheduled within any given quarter or year.
I help small- to medium-sized businesses create their plan in a way that is not intimidating, but rather helps them get and stay motivated.
Do you have your business plan? And if so, does it contain a mix of these two types of activities?
