Hi!
This portfolio is a selection of works from my time spent at KTH, School of Architecture. To make joyful and welcoming building, while finding context, flexibility and sustainability are some of the most important things I have learnt. Now I hope to find a place where I can deepen my understanding for all things architecture, with a wish to develop resilient environments with the human scale as a main focus.

Bachelor thesis
year: 3rd year teachers: Pål Röjgård Harryan Janek Ozmin program: public community building + bath house + education al centre location: Botkyrka, Stockholm

This project intends to open up a closed and unavailable facility that makes for a crucial part of the water infrastructure, in hopes of shedding light on problems related to water. Integrating leisure and wellbeing, in the forms of bathing and swimming, with an important, but inaccessable process and facility, introduces the place in a more familiar manner. Further, I want to add a structure to support the existing educational efforts made by adding an educational centre. With a growing population and raised requirements of the water cleaning process, the water treatment plant Himmerfjärdsverket, located in Botkyrka, a suburb in the Stockholm region, is expanding. The water treatment plant has existed since the 1970s,
and cleans the water of 250 000 people in the Stockholm region daily. Currently, an additional facility, a membrane hall, is under construction, which will not only increase the capacity but also result in cleaner water. Located next to the existing cleaning tanks, it will work as an additional step in the cleaning process. This project works with a transformation of the membrane hall. The form of the building aims to create an open and playful form, and to put it in contrast to the rest of the facility which embodies an industrial form and aesthetic, to challenge the perception of water treatment plants and the existing conditions for the water treatment plant as an object in the landscape.

OFFICE BUILDING 5 with Vivian Zhang
year: 2nd year teachers: Marianne Aaro Anders Berenson program: public hall location: Nacka, Stockholm

Kontorshus 5, translating into office building 5, is built in 1980 and houses many functions; shops, a hotel, a psychiatry for youths, and a kindergarten. It is located in Ektorp centrum, some 20 minutes away from the Stockholms city centre. The centrum mainly serves the locals, housing convinience stores, postal service and such. The definite character of the Kontorshus 5 is the red brick and long window rows. 40 years later, the building is already risking demolition, and the following is a proposal that seeks to extend the longevity of the building. We suggest that by removing the middle section, a space which aims to emphasize
kontorhus 5’s qualities, keep its important functions, and at the same time, add new elements, is created. The new materials, wood and glas, are to be combined with the existing brick facade and load-bearing concrete strucutre. Solid brick meets airy wood structure. The new hall accommodates for new vertical communications, which makes for a new entrance for the whole building. Moreover, the barrier that the building made for is removed and therefore opens up the space of the centrum. Beyond an entrance, the hall makes for a public meeting space with artworks, museum, restaurant, café and shop.

PASSAGE year: 2nd year teachers: Marianne Aaro Anders Berenson program: fish market location: Skeppsbron, Stockholm
Skeppsbron is the road and dock that runs along the east side of the Old Town of Stockholm. Stretching from Slussen in the south to Strömbron in the north, cars, buses, bikes and pedestrians use it continuously. It is an important route to locals as commuters use this distance daily, but also tourists who visit Old Town. The fish market should not hinder the movements which can be found on Skeppsbron today, but rather blend into the current setting. Like a sequence in a whole.
16
The market consists of extrovert and introvert parts. The introvert parts, that serve the extrovert parts, are hidden behind the concrete. The spaces in between then become the extrovert surfaces, and are programmed as spaces for vendors, where fish and other goods can be sold. As you move up a floor, you find a place to rest in contrast to the passage which is in constant movement. Restaurants, seating and small-scale plantations are all part of the second floor.

KVARTER MEJERI year: 2nd year teachers: Marianne Aaro Anders Berenson program: housing location: Edsbro, Norrtälje
The route of bus 639 starts in the inner city of Stockholm and moves past dense city blocks through countryside before arriving at Edsbro centrum, about one and a half hour later. A short walk away lies Kvarter Mejeri, a rowhouse block along the historical Edsbro Bruksgata. In Kvarter Mejeri the presence of greenery is notable. The houses in larch wood are painted in different colours which ... might remind you of the milk carton from this mornings breakfast.
20
The houses may lead your thoughts to a barn, and the houses are in some ways self-sufficient through small-scale plantations. Gabled roofs and earthy colours are to be related to the existing buildings along Edsbro Bruksgata.

IDENTITY FRAGMENTS year: 4th year studio: adrift: In Situ teachers: Rumi Kubokawa Therese Selberg program: undefined location: undefined
This project is an investigation and dissection of a former cosmetics office-factory-warehouse drawn by British-Swedish architect Ralph Erskine through a self-defined method. Intuition and the never-ending have been leading me through this process. Looking at the building, I felt one could see and understand it better through its fragments. By hand crafting the fragments, distorting its scales, colors and materials, could one find out something new about the object?
24
What changes, or stays the same, both in relation to each other but also as individual fragments. Then changing mediums, and further dissecting and distorting the fragments, what is left, and what is new?
investigation of new relationship, character and quality through photographs
25
RE-peat, -color- -scale, -interpret, -imagine.
Through collaging in different ways, I produced four suggestive collages. For the next step, circling back to the physical model-fragments, I wanted to once again explore the relationship by translating flat into volume.
