Program Notes This work was composed for the Comp du Jour concert at The Hartt School (including instrumentation which was decided by chance) was decided on Friday.

This piece was started around 10:00pm on Friday, February 11th and performed at 7:30pm on Saturday, February 12th.

The piece should be played very expressively and as legato as possible. Balance is particularly important since the Trombone can easily overpower the oboes. The Trombone soloist should cue the beats.

The duration of Adagio for those who need it is approximately five (5) minutes.
