ccording to weddingstats.org, the average cost of a wedding in 2020 is over $30,000. If that number seems wildly out of proportion to your own modest budget, take heart! Couples aiming to keep costs down can still have a fabulous wedding. Read what local experts have to say about ways to celebrate the big day without breaking the bank.

A great way to stay on track of your budget is to avoid paper goods, advises Savannah Torres, owner of Anthology Studios in Ventura, which serves Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.

“You don’t need a menu or program for every guest — I cannot tell you how many times I throw out those items at the end of a wedding,” said Torres, noting that you can get away with doing one per table, or a focal sign as they enter

“Be open to different flower types, but stick to a theme or color and trust your florist’s creative ability,” she said.

weddings,” said Tahnie Nollenberger from Ojai. As the owner of Ivy Weddings and Events, which serves clients throughout Southern California, she offers the following examples of how modern-day couples can go green for their wedding.
