Obituaries
Walter Stephen Wagner, age 77, most recently of Queen Creek, previously a resident of Mesa, Arizona, passed away, June 30th, at the Wellsprings Therapy Center in Gilbert, Arizona. He was born July 15th , 1 942 in the borough of Manhattan, NYC, NY. T he eldest son of Walter Sullivan Wagner and R osalie DeSimone Wagner. Raised in Pelham M anor, NY, until leaving for boarding at The J udson School in Scottsdale, he would remain t hereafter a life-long resident of Arizona, g raduating from Judson ‘60 and Arizona State U niversity. Steve’s career spanned decades in the entert ainment industry, specifically movie and telev ision on-location support services. He count ed many A-list actors as good friends. His schoolmate at Judson would introduce h im to hunting and fishing in Montana, a lifel ong enj oyment. He owned and bred d achshund hounds, with many champions to h is credit. Stephen was born into a theatrical Broadway f amily. His father, Walter Wagner, was a B roadway actor, stage manager and television n ews director. Stephen’ s great-uncle was H oward Lindsay, American theatrical produc er, Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, librett ist, director, and actor. Stephen never married. He was preceded in d eath by his parents Walter and Rosalie Wagne r of Juno Beach, Florida. He is survived by h is brother Michael L Wagner (Louise), of R edding Connecticut, nephew and godchild M ichael W Wagner (Kate O) of Texas, niece a nd godchild Kate RL Wagner of Connecticut, c ousins in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, a nd Colorado. Stephen was held in high esteem, respected, a nd loved by his family who grieve their loss. W ords of condolences to his family would be m ost appreciated via mikelsg@optonline.net
