Ortega has occasionally gone to board and commission meetings as an ex of�icio (non-voting) member. He has also at times sat on the dais and offered opinions on topics considered by the boards and commissions. But during a July 7 discussion of Council’s rules of procedure, Ortega’s colleagues call ed such conduct inappropriate.

ix candidates will be seeking election to two open seats on the Scottsdale Uni�ied School District Governing Board Nov 8. Amy Carney, Mary Gaudio, Andrea Keck, Sara Solem, Robb Vaules, and Carine Werner have �iled to run for the seats being vacated by Jann-Michael Greenburg and Patty Beckman. While 10 people had �iled statements of interest to run for the campaign, only six turned in the requisite minimum of 400 signatures to get their names on the ballot.
