Walgreens and its primary care partner Village Medical recently opened three Village Medical at Walgreens practices in the area, with plans to open 12 by summer 2021. Village Medical at Walgreens, which includes a location at 20266 N. Lake Pleasant Road, is a full-service primary care practice. Six in 10 Americans live with at least one chronic condition, requiring multiple daily medications. In Arizona, chronic diseases are the most common, costly

and preventable of all health problems. “At Village Medical at Walgreens, Phoenix-area patients benefit from our direct communication and ongoing collaboration with the Walgreens pharmacists as part of our integrated care model,” said Dr. Kamel Sadek of Village Medical. “This clinical model leads to increased medication adherence, higher quality of care, and improved patient experience.” Jodi Burgess, PharmD, the Walgreens pharmacist and pharmacy manager at the North Lake Pleasant Road store, said it’s important, especially during a pandemic, to have coordinated care.
