Peoria Art Commission OKs arts action plan BY SCIANNA GARCIA

Peoria exceeds in enriching the quality of life for its residents through a variety of public events, cultural programming and continuing to represent the traditions and heritage of the city through public art. The Peoria Arts Commission has approved the arts action plan for the 2022 fiscal year. It will continue to strengthen the community outreach and public art accessibility for the city. Despite the pandemic, the commission managed to accomplish many of the items on the 2021 fiscal plan, including the funding for arts grants, the utility box art wraps and the arts postcards. Peoria Unified launches educational podcast BY PEORIA TIMES STAFF Peoria Unified released the first episode of its new podcast, the Progress Report. In episodes of the Progress Report, the district will breakdown current district projects and programs into more depth than is provided on its biweekly podcast, Trending Peoria. Episodes will focus on major updates within Peoria Unified, including the strategic plan, voter initiatives and academic
achievement. Similar to Trending Peoria, the Progress Report features interviews from Peoria Unified employees. Depending on the subject matter, interviews may also include teachers, administrators, support staff, students, community members and industry experts. The district’s first episode will provide a strategic plan update and include feedback from the parent engagement forum, held last month. You can read more about this episode below:
