The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors recently approved the design and construction of a safety dock and boathouses at Scorpion Bay Marina at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. The project, estimated to cost at $900,000, will be paid for jointly by Maricopa County and Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD). The county will own the dock while Scorpion Bay will maintain the facility. “Very few times does something like this come together, but Parks and Recreation
was able to get this together,” said Clint Hickman, District 4 supervisor and board vice chairman. “Lake Pleasant and the park are incredible public assets that see thousands of visitors every year. As the popularity of the park increases, we have to make sure we have the facilities for the people who keep everyone safe on the lake,” Hickman said. The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and AZGFD will exclusively use the dock to manage and increase public safety at the lake. “This is an interesting collaboration

between government departments to come together where there is a need,” Hickman said. “This comes from Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office having funds and Arizona Game and Fish able to qualify for some grants to combine on this project.” Hickman said the dock will not be a new dock, but an extension of an existing dock with a couple of out buildings for storage. “It will add on to a current dock which will allow for the Game and Fish and Sheriff’s Office to store their boats there,” Hickman said. “This also will give them the ability to store boats that they take into SEE LAKE

A Peoria woman is in custody following allegations she had multiple sexual interactions with two teen boys. Jennifer Lehman, 20, was arrested by Phoenix police March 13 on a warrant, Peoria Police Officer Mitchell Fuller confirmed. The case dates back to last year. According to Peoria police documents obtained by the Times, two teenagers who are half brothers – ages 13 and 16 – allege Lehman “engaged in sex acts with them on multiple occasions at multiple locations.” The documents – which were filed by Det.
