DIZZINESS, HEADACHES, ANXIETY, NAUSEA, DOUBLE VISION. COULD IT BE YOUR EYES?

Binocular Vision Dysfunction (BVD) is a misalignment of the eye muscles. The line of sight from one eye is slightly different than the other eye. Therefore the eye muscles have to work harder than they should to correct the misalignment and achieve a single line of focus. Tense and overworked muscles in and around the eyes caused by BVD can be responsible for dizziness, headaches, nausea, anxiety, gait imbalance, neck pain and other unwanted symptoms.

Have you seen multiple specialists but nothing seems to help? Neurovisual medicine is a subspecialty of optometry that uses a new approach to treating micro misalignments of the eyes not normally detected on a routine eye exam. Dr. Julie Lam practices at Eye Care North in Cave Creek and is the only Neurovisual optometrist in Arizona. She is the 25th doctor in the United States to complete training at the Neurovisual Medicine Institute in Michigan. She has helped many patients, including TBI sufferers, with their symptoms by treating BVD with special lenses.

To fi nd out if you have BVD, fi ll out the screening questionnaire at www.eyecarenorth.com. A staff member will call you with the results and let you know if a Neurovisual evaluation can help with your symptoms.
