A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR
Dear Fontana Residents, Welcome to Our Town. It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Our Town. The city of Fontana has achieved remarkable milestones this year. Stage Red now brings vibrant new entertainment to the heart of our city — most recently hosting the legendary musicians Travis Barker, Sammy Haggar and Jay Buchanan. We have completed the first of two downtown parking structures which will help to support our downtown business community. We also opened The Path — Fontana’s homeless prevention resource center — and proudly hosted the second annual Business Summit to support our food-based entrepreneurs.
These accomplishments are nothing short of extraordinary.
In Fontana, we are united by our deep sense of community — a shared commitment to something greater than ourselves. We call it “Fontana Together.” It’s woven into everything we do: the connections we build, the investments we make in our infrastructure, and the support we extend to our businesses and residents alike. Every milestone we reach and every
improvement we achieve is made possible by your continued dedication, collaboration, and pride in our city.
Together, we have taken significant strides to reimagine community. I am filled with gratitude for the collaborative spirit that defines Fontana. Our collective efforts have not only propelled our fast-growing city forward but have transformed it into a magnetic force — attracting exceptional businesses, residents and opportunities.
I want to extend my heartfelt appre-
ciation to our residents, businesses, educators, nonprofit organizations, and faith-based communities. It is truly an honor to call you my colleagues, partners and friends.
As I reflect on this past year, I am deeply thankful for everyone who has helped move Fontana forward. You have embraced the responsibility of progress — offering your time in focus groups, participating in park cleanups, volunteering at events, supporting programs, and leaning in wholeheartedly to strengthen our region. Together, we continue to shape Fontana’s bright and promising future.
Because of your efforts and commitment, together we have realized several amazing milestones, accomplishments, and game-changing moments:
Jan.-Sept. 2025:
• Issued 4,300 building permits, of which 650 — Single Family Dwellings, 105 — Multifamily Dwellings
• Repaired or reconstructed more than 81,400 square feet of sidewalk
• Maintained 230 traffic signal and devices
• Responded to over 19,575 calls for fire service

ADDRESSING HOMELESSNESS
Hope into Action: Fontana’s fight against homelessness
BY MAYOR ACQUANETTA WARREN Herald News Contributor
Addressing homelessness is not a individual sprint—it’s a relay. It takes endurance, trust, and seamless coordination among partners who are committed to passing the baton with purpose and precision. In Fontana, we are running that race — together — and making real progress.
Our Homeless Solutions Action Plan is more than just a policy document. It is a citywide commitment — a bold, compassionate roadmap designed to prevent homelessness before it begins, respond swiftly when it occurs, and build long-term solutions that restore stability and dignity.
The 2025-2026 Homeless Solutions Action Plan reflects Fontana’s continued commitment to resolving homelessness by building on past progress and focusing on measurable
outcomes. This one-year plan update (2025-2026) prioritizes long-term solutions that reduce homelessness and prevents it from recurring. With a focus on coordination, accountability, and expanding access to critical housing and support services.
At the core of this plan is the expansion of affordable and supportive housing, combined with high-impact strategies such as intensive case management, targeted prevention, and transitional housing. The city will enhance coordination to address the root causes of homelessness and support long-term stability. While we support housing options, the housing first approach is not the full solution to homelessness; it needs to be coupled with intensive case management and transitional housing.
This isn’t just about housing — it’s about humanity.
One of the most visible results of this commitment is the successful

opening of the Aldea Apartments — a landmark achievement in expanding our permanent supportive housing options. Aldea offers more than shelter; it offers hope, healing and a path forward for those transitioning out of homelessness. It stands as a powerful symbol of what’s possible when innovation meets determination.
Housing is only one piece of the puzzle. We’re also ensuring our public spaces remain safe and accessible for all residents through an updated ordinance regarding camping in public spaces — a thoughtful, balanced measure that aligns compassion with community responsibility. It’s a reflection of our city’s ability to lead with both heart and common sense.
On the ground, programs like the Fontana Police Department’s HOST (Homeless Outreach Support Team) and partnerships with organizations like Water of Life’s CityLink are showing what collaboration can achieve.
TThese partnerships are proof that when law enforcement, service providers, and local leadership move in unison, lives change for the better.
We know that vision without accountability is just talk. That’s why we continue to champion performance tracking, measurable outcomes, and strong inter-agency cooperation. Every dollar we invest must translate into results: Fewer people sleeping on the streets, more individuals in stable housing, and sustained reductions in chronic homelessness.
This work isn’t easy — but it’s essential. And we’re not backing down. By staying focused on prevention, rehousing, supportive services, and accountability, we are creating a system where homelessness becomes rare, brief, and nonrecurring and every resident can thrive.
The race isn’t over, but Fontana is out in front — and we’re not slowing down.
