COMMUNING IN THE CANYON
CARRIE RAE WOODBURN’S TERRA SAGE MERCANTILE IS DEVOTED TO CREATING SANCTUARY SPACES FOR YOUR GARDEN AND HOME.
BY JUSTINE AMODEO / COURTESY OF LATITUDE33 MAGAZINE
The idea for Terra Sage Mercantile came to Carrie Rae Woodburn three years ago when she was contemplating the compelling notion of “the aesthetic of how we live our life in every setting.” Why not create a space that brought together all aspects of her professions — artist, spiritual practitioner, leadership — in order to offer community events and classes, “places to share experiences. It’s so much more than a place to come and shop, it’s a place to come and connect.”
Visitors to Laguna Canyon’s Terra Sage Mercantile—like Woodburn’s charming Sawdust Festival booth and home studio, all shared with her husband, the artist Andrew Soliz, who owns Tatankamani Woodworks, the woodshop next door — will find her soulful leatherwork and jewelry, as well as her curated collection of home décor, vintage clothing and an artists’ collective. A unique garden oasis, from pots to CANYON Page 2
