Barro’s Pizza
he Barro family took a rambling route before it settled down in Mesa in 1980 and became an Arizona icon. It all started with Grandma Angelina Barro, who created the winning combo of thick, fluffy crust and spicy, sweet sauce to feed her family in Sarconi, Italy. The family moved to Chicago in the 1930s, and the sons opened the first Barro’s 30 years later. They tested the warm waters of California before settling on Arizona, where they now have 40 stores. Regulars adore that original crust, but many also like the thin-crust option. Try the pepperoniladen Barro’s Special, the Vegetarian or the Mega Meat, among others. You can also make your own Barro’s pizza with 18 different topping choices.

Thanking Mesa for over 45 years of patronage!
Organ Stop Pizza (480) 813-5700
utch Bros has Mesa residents’ morning and afternoon coffee cravings covered with three drive-through locations. They come for the premium mochas, lattes, breves and cold brews but keep coming back for the quick and friendly service. Brothers Dane and Travis Boersma realized when they founded the Oregonbased chain in 1992 that they were in the relationship business. They emphasized speed, quality and service. Companyowned stores and franchise locations are also well known for supporting local good causes. With a not-so-secret menu and new flavor combos being rotated all the time, there’s always something new to try.

ince 1986, Mesa families have been celebrating birthdays, graduations, anniversaries and other special occasions at Vito’s. It’s also the place you go on Friday night. The original owners retired in 2009, but current owners Ryan and Alexis Vickery – loyal patrons at the time – never missed a beat when it came to carrying on the tradition. They want neighbors not only to enjoy the fine food, but also to have a lot of laughs. If you’re unfamiliar with Vito’s, you’ll be amazed at the quality of the seafood. The linguine pescatore – heaped with clams, mussels, salmon and scallops – and the lobster ravioli are favorites. The creamy seafood risotto elevates comfort food to the next level.
