OWA Sushi Pop-Up Thursday, April 28
OWA’s Sushi Pop-Up brings a five-course Omakase tasting experience to South End in Venice. The pop-up will take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning April 27 and run throughout the summer. This event is in anticipation of the opening of OWA, a new sushi restaurant and bar that will open later this year on Abbot Kinney in the space formerly occupied by Wabi-Sabi. Earth Focus Environmental Film Festival Thursday and Friday, April 28 to 29
KCET, PBS SoCal and Link TV’s fourth annual Earth Focus Environmental Film Festival, the only festival of its kind in Los Angeles, is going virtual this year from April 24 to 29. The weeklong festival features film screenings and Q&A discussions addressing climate change realities with the goal of confronting global issues that impact all living creatures and natural resources. Ticket options include a $45 all-access pass to attend all of the virtual film screenings and post-screening discussions taking place on the Eventive platform. Marina del Rey Farmers Market Saturday, April 30
This weekly outdoor event allows Westside residents to support local produce sellers and other vendors. Food from a wide variety of businesses is available for purchase. Masks are required and only 40 people are allowed to shop at any one time. Held in parking lot 11.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Saturday, April 30
Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles, in partnership with local law enforcement agencies, will serve as a drop-off location for the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. On this day, the public will have the opportunity to drive up to the 24-hour pharmacy turnaround at the medical center to drop off unwanted, unused or expired medications. A pharmacist will also be on hand to answer any questions about the medications.

La Ballona Valley Show & Sale Saturday, April 30
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Bromeliad Society of La Ballona Valley will host its annual show and sale in the Culver City Teen Center. They will display many of the varieties of this plant group including Bilbergia, Aechmea, Guzmania and Tillandisa (air plants). The event is free and open to all. There will also be member plant sales and invited vendor plant sales too.

Blooms with a View Spring Garden Tour Sunday, May 1
Inspired Garden Artistry will host its 10th biannual Spring Garden Tour, which is the longest running community event in the View park-Windsor Hills area. The garden tour will feature nine beautiful and distinctly different gardens, along with a plant swap and vendor fair featuring artisans, landscape architects, nurseries, children’s activities, local community services and programs, food trucks, giveaways and more. On May 1, the private gardens will be open to the public from noon to 5 p.m. and the vendor fair will open from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. rain or shine. Tickets may be purchased online through May 1 for $35. Children 12 and under attend for free.
